XPERIA X1 camera samples: photo and video

I’ve been snapping like crazy with the new XPERIA X1 to get you a large set of X1 camera samples. According to my computer, we’ve got a total of 36 camera samples for you as well as two videos in VGA resolution at 30 frames per second. Note that the videos will be decreased a bit in quality, and they’ll look a lot more jaggy than they really are, but we’ve provided download links below each video for those of you wanting the untouched version.

So, let us know what you think of the samples. I was really surprised by how good the camera in X1 actually is. The quality is rather high, and I haven’t experienced either annoying or serious white balance or colour problems. Sure, there are a few ones with a purple tint, but this is a seldom sight that’s hardly of any annoyance to me. Press the thumbnails for a slightly larger picture, and if you want the full size picture, you simply press the picture again.

    ey,
    i’ve got a question…
which device makes pictures more faster then the others, is that SE Xperia, SE C905 or Samsung Innov8?
i think it is the C905? but how fast does the Xperia makes pictures? and are the pictures of moving objects/people good?
    thanks in advance!..

  9. [...] Writer Michell should’ve also tried snapping shots in really poor conditions, like a smoke-filled bar. The daytime images are very decent, although some light graininess makes super clarity virtually impossible. In any case, take a look at the full collection here. [...]

Well, the pictures are really great and the device  has a big potencial as a snapper … but what makes me concerned is the quality of the video samples because after some analysis i found out that the sound encoding was the ancient AMR with mono 8000 kHz which is really a big letdown. i hope they fix this problem with the coming firmwares.

How do you compare the videoRecording against say..    N95?
Considering Megapixel has nothing to do with quality, Do you consider the X1 camera as best of Windows Mobile? Note that there’s also Samsung Omnia.  Say both pictures are scaled to 3MP.

Opps i forgot to ask: how fast does the camera app start? and how long is the interval between shots?

Thanks for uploading the sample videos, I’ve looked everywhere for footage.

Couple of questions, are the videos at the native resolution? How much of the compression artefacts are due to the flash video?
