seems interesting… Might be my next phone
Then let me help you by giving my opinion of the Xperia X10 Mini Pro (aka the U20i):
Yes, the screen resolution could of been bigger since the “effective” screen size is the same as my k800 and W595 – Im pleased to see SE replace this with a bigger resolution, but I dont know if its quite big enough.
Single touch is fine bearing in mind that this was my first smartphone and personally I dont understand why you would want multitouch anyway (except to zoom in)
Se wont update X10 Mini Pro to Gingerbread (android 2.3) – sorry, but what? I have to argue both points here (and please do correct me if Im wrong here) but Gingerbread is available as a custom ROM from XDA, so for those that dont want to void their warranty I cannot understand why SE have decided not to update the X10 Mini series to Gingerbread when I seem to recall that the new Minis are more/less the same hardware. I would love to see the X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro get the new Mini and Mini Pro ROM put on it by XDA developers, and SE to say its not possible.
Anyway, if the new minis are anything to go by (assuming SE actually release the updates this time around – Im still waiting for the ANT+ for my UK generic Mini Pro) then I cant see why not go for one.
The only reason Im not really interested in the new Mini series is cos whilst I still love my X10 Mini Pro, I would like a bit of a bigger QWERTY keyboard
The reason why SE states it’s impossible to update the current generation of Minis is the same reason why HTC states that its current generation cannot run HTC Sense 3.0: sales
whats a xLOUD™ Experience in music specs
if this will happen on XDA, few days after that the SE will say “good news for old Mini Pro users, we managed to…” – just like with multi-touch and Andro 2.3
That will be hard due to resolution differences. I don’t think the Mini/Mini Pro apks include ldpi resolutions anyway
.
aaaaaaaaah, didn’t notice screen resolution
