W980 Is Finally Official
After days of rumours and pictures the W980 is finally officially announced. In terms of features the handset is positioned in the high-end of Sony Ericsson’s portfolio and boasts 8 Gb of internal memory, HSDPA connectivity and a 3.2 MP camera. A full list of its specifications is presented below.
The handset is quite exciting as it represents the first time Sony Ericsson has released a high-end clamshell handset since the Z1010. It is also notable because it offers much of the same music functionality as the recently released W960 smartphone, but without the smartphone part, which may appeal to those who want the W960’s music capabilities in a non-smartphone package.
Sony Ericsson are currently listing the W980 as being available from Q3 in selected markets. This puts the release time frame somewhere between July and September.

get this phone its mint i pay £30 a month for this phone on vodaphone i get unlimited texts and 600 mins!!
This phone is really cool. I am getting in it 2 weeks time. I cant wait!!!
people also say that the memory cannot be expanded, but seriously, 8Gb is more than enough! No wi-lan and stuff, well most other high end phones don’t have wi-lan too…
First of all, I love its design. I ALWAYS loved flip/clam-shell phones but wasn’t able to get one. People say it is dated and all that stuff but i think flip phones are really stylish and cool. Like picking up calls with a flip >:D Besides, there is an external mp3 player(which is really like one) outside. The glossy look and the way the screen is placed is real cool.
Secondly, its features rock! 8GB! The phones i had have pathetic storage like 60mb… and i had to buy a memory card of 256mb for some 30 bucks. Thats really lame. -_-The audio quality is supposed to be great, i believe.
However, people say the position of the camera is bad, but it doesn’t really matter to me since i dun really use phone to take pictures. 3.2 megapixel is good enough
