Video: Sony Ericsson W995 preview

Here’s our 17-minute video preview of the Sony Ericsson W995, which was announced last Sunday. The video includes parts about the design, comparisons with other devices, including the C901 and C903, and of course a fairly thorough walk-through of the user interface and some of the features. Please keep in mind that the phones shown in the video are very early prototypes running very early software. The icons are messed up at the moment, the Walkman player seems to be going through some kind of restructuring, and several features are missing.

The video was a pretty quick job. Didn’t have much time to edit it (not that it would have been much better, but still…), so you’ll have to live with me dropping the phones, etc., now and then.

You might also want to check out our large gallery of the W995, which was posted right here, in case you haven’t done so already.

Nice video, but what is the resolution for video recording?

  3. thotee says:

    Hikaru is really good-looking

  4. bummy says:

I’m glad to see alot of the C-series function in w995’s camera!
Best Pic used to be reserved for Cybershot phones…

Hikaru is great looking…. but i don’t like it, cause it’s a slider.
There are difficulties while typing or browsing in the internet.

Also this netfront browser is annoying. Opera mini 10 times better in all aspects.

This phone is huge…. don’t want to know his price when it will be released.

  6. thotee says:

Have you notice the similarity of the keypad layout/design of Hikaru and N86?

  7. fc says:

My iPod Touch is much better like this, sorry guys but is true
    500 euro,  is a joke ?

Small display, slowly hardware, no Touch…..

  8. Viskoze says:

It wasn’t a bug, screen wouldn’t change position when web site is loading

  9. Michell says:

    Viskoze,
The browser hang afterwards, so yes, it’s a bug.

  10. foxy says:

would have been better, if they didnt put an open port on the left side….should have stayed hidden on the bottom part of the phone

aside from that, the lens are not covered, also the keypads for the black version (or the keypad deck / platform) looks cheap — they should have just colored it black like the overall design of the phone.  instead if you buy the black version of this phone, you get a silver keypad base/deck.

by the way, if you check the Sony Ericsson website, Best Pic is not included in this model….fyi

HEY ENOUGH WITH ALL THESE NEGATIVE COMENTS!
vladimir: HUGE?!?!?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! ITS A VERY SLIM PHONE AND WITH 8MP
fc: WE ARE TALKING ABOUT A PHONE!! NOT A MP3 PLAYER!! AND TOUCHSCREEN IS ANNOYING! AND WHERE DID YOU SEE THE ”SLOW HARDWARE”?!?!?!
foxy: IF THE  OPEN PORT WAS ON THE BOTTOM PART, THERE WOULD BE NO STEREO SPEAKERS.ALSO IF YOU NOTICE ALL NEW SE HAVE THE PORT ON THEIR SIDE.

HIKARU IS ONE OF THE BEST PHONES FOR PEOPLE THAT WANT A  CLASSIC SE PHONE WITH A VERY GOOD CAMERA AND MUSIC!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH I AM OUT OF HERE!
