Video: Sony Ericsson phones durability test

Having read some of the comments about my rather cool (and totally copyrighted!) way of handling the F305, T700 and W302 in the unboxing videos (read: tossing them around a bit), I’ve decided to go all in with a large durability test, and - naturally - caught it all on tape, err, memory card! The durability test included no less than thirty Sony Ericsson phones that all received some TLC before being airborne. To my great surprise, none of the phones received any scratches from this test - great job, Sony Ericsson!

All right… My time is up, and I’ll leave you with the video and a question just below it…

So, have I got too much time on my hands or too many phones to be in my hands? That’s the question!

The phones in the video are:

C902, C905, G900, K530, K660, K700, K750, 2x K770, K800, K850, M600, P990, S500, T68i, T230, T610, W550, 2x W595, 2x W760, W800, 2x W890, W900, W950, W960, X1, and Z320.

Wow! not even a scratch? i’m impressed, some of the newer phones look like they can scratch pretty easily. I remember my first sony ericsson; the W810i. that thing was a beast! i dropped it a bunch of times running to catch the metro - and it still work perfectly!

But where do you get all those phones? In Miami the only place i can get those phones is through really expensive third party sellers, that sell them unlocked.

Are you in America? do you know anyone/place i can buy SE phones that doesnt have ridiculous pricing?

    thanks for the help,
    pedro

So responding to your question… I think you have too many phones and too much time in your hands.  Haha.

You know you should put them through a toilet water test to see if the phones are real long lasting.  My Z610i survived it… twice =P

“They’re all mine, and I even left out a few”

    Are you serious??

A few months ago you had one third of that or something, don’t you?
Have you won the lottery or something?

  12. Jose Carlos says:

Well, I can name some SE phones that scratch, lose paint or develop stains WITHOUT abuse, such as W910 or the W890 I’m using now. Love the OS, though.

  13. Bobby says:

Hey at first I thought “Noooo, he is not going to  throw all that pieces of great technology by the windows !!” But in fact you just throw them on a realy soft sofa… Come on, I do that with my C905 every days, and guess what… not a scratch. You should try to step on them or put them switched on in a glass of water and count witch one shuts off first. That would be an interesting video !
