A wee update on the X10 battery issue that we’ve been talking about recently; apparently there is indeed a fix in the works and if it’s anything as described it should be a good fix at that. Rahul came across a comment made by one of the Sony Ericsson Answers team on their Facebook page addressing the battery issue, I’ve quoted the relevant comment below:

We don’t provide change-logs for updates with any of our devices, this is our normal practice.

As for your battery life issue, we are working on an update which should effectively double the battery time. No, I don’t have release date information at this time

No change-log for future updates, fair enough, not unexpected. The real juice, pardon the pun, is in saying that they are working on a fix for the low battery life issues. That at least confirms that SE are aware of the issue, and that it is indeed an issue and not working as intended, which is good to know. As above not unexpected that there is no timeframe given for the update, but doubling the battery life?! That sounds pretty sweet so let’s hope they aren’t just blowing balloon juice here.
