Well, big surprise – Sony Ericsson announced yet another crappy handset today, called the T715. And what exactly is the T715? Well, one could call it many things – G705, W705, W715, W595 or W595s. That’s all there is to say, really.
Here’s the press release, if you interested in reading old news. Oh, and you’ll have to go there for pictures as well. I didn’t bother adding them – I’m sure you all know how the aforementioned handsets look. Play around in Paint a bit, and you’ll have the T715. At least, that’s what I think the designer did.
BUT, since we’re such nice fellows, we’ve included a photo and the demo video, which has a rather nice track this time around (and would have suited a Walkman phone better, frankly). Here they are:

Well said.
As much as I am an SE fan myself, this release isn’t interesting at all!
Design update for their low-end portfolio…. nothing to see here!
( Although it looks pretty, its nothing new, really )

Well, this crappy ‘article’ lost you one frequent visitor at least. Congrats!
While it may not be original, I like the style of this new T715, plus according to SEMCBlog.com, the screen actually is usable in direct sunlight (was this the case with W715 etc?) and it has MicroSD, also a first and a sign that Sony Ericsson will already even use it in their lower end mobiles.

Ah, you changed it now, good for you, but still.

That’s it, Mizzle, I forbid you to write announcment articles henceforth. :p
Nah, kidding, I obviously can’t do that. But have in mind that it’s up to the readers to choose whether it’s crappy or not and it’s up to us to deliver the actual unbiased news.

It’s worst than the W715: they decided to remove WiFi.

boring!

So what your saying is that the G705, W705, W715, W595 are crappy handsets?
Get your head stright mate! These have to be some of the best handsets SE have released. From style to functionality they are great!
Having moved from the falling build quality of Nokia in which I have been a Nokia user since the Sony merged with Ericsson, the release of W595,W705, W715 series is the best SE have ever done!
Sure the UI takes a bit to get used to moving from Nokia, but if these models did not exist, I would only just be hanging in there as a Nokia user and probably would have switched to HTC Diamond 2 or Google Android. But I have a PDA already and do not feel the need to upgrade that yet.
But we are all opinionated so just as NightBlade stated, its up to the end user to decide for them selves and that’s just my opinion.

While I totally agree that a large number of individual models with few differences is a nightmare for the average consumer read: someone not following all the gadget sites and reading a lot of reviews and so forth. I still think it is nice that there are different designs for the roughly the same technical content. Personally I am very keen on and go for metal phones, as they do not scratch as easily and do not look old quite as fast as plastic and painted phones. What would be very nice was to do it the other way around: have the excatly the same large feature set including both walkman and cybershot autofocous features for some models (here sony erricson is often very skimpy compared to nokia and samsung) and have different designs for the same basic model, without pretending that it is a completely new phone. Maybee one could even have the excatly same designs but with a choice of different features. That is fewer models but the same amount of designs. I think that would suit the consumer quite nicely and with a nice marketing campaign every one would be pleased
And I could get my metal phone.

@Nightblade
It is crappy! Has some sense in it, but I’ve never seen an article that was more biased and not written by Eldar

It’s just a low end phone. Why bash it when the company has other options around for more demanding users? The lower end of the portfolio needs to be updated periodically too. Sammy and Nokia announced some low end models recently too.
Dunno what happened to Michell lately.

I definately agree to that ’synn’. it is a low end phone for basic users, like my mum or grrl friend. That just it, nothing more.

Hi, Im the ‘Mum’ user – and I think its great – simple and affordable – it should be reviewed for what it has to offer and compared with other models in its range….
