Remember the W950? A touch screen smart phone with 4 gigabytes of internal memory for music. Now, what about W960? A touch screen smart phone with 8 gigabytes of internal memory for music. Guess what the successor will be! You guessed it! A touch screen smart phone with 16 gigabytes of internal memory for music, and will be positioned at the very top of Sony Ericsson’s music portfolio.
This is all we’ve got as of now, so let’s all call this a ‘rumour’ until we’ve got more 
It is certain, however, it’ll be one of Sony Ericsson’s upcoming flagship phones - possibly - this year along with the next business flagship codenamed Hecaro and the imaging flagship, recently announced as C905.

In Mexico there’s already a TV ad with the group Allison showing a 16GB sony ericsson, i’m not sure if they say the exact model, i’ll try to pay attention

maybe they should call is the w1000 or the w ownage or something like that
i think se should put in a 400mhz processor in this one which seems rather possible xenon flash and a lens cover(cover is somewhat more important) and also make it look good i always felt the w950 and w960 looked terrible but maybe thats just me like i mean think about it when the w950 came out the amazing k800i/k810i was out and that trumped it in looks and quality the same thing happened with the k850i and the w960 lets hope the build quality/looks is as good as the c905!

Just like my prognoses: this firm is breed for playing the music! All that years spent on making the serious phones! Gone with the wind!
Why is there a touchscreen Walkman? and no touchscreen Cybershot?
My wish for this phone:
1. Not a full touch screen phone(not my style)
(I can’t help myself stop saying ‘Alicia’ and ‘Shiho’ all day)
2. XMB UI
3. Although UIQ is welcomed (UIQ 4 is much better)
4. True Dolby Digital 5.1 (or 7.1?) Surround Sound
5. Wi-fi, DLNA
6. Better Camera (a little bit).
7. Beautiful Codename
I am so confused. Some people say no more smartphones from SE till next year because of the Symbian Foundation, some say we will still get UIQ phones.
If such a phone will be develope, it can only be a Windows Mobile based one, because of the touch. SE is done and over with UIQ, get that in your head, until the start doing S60 in 2 years.
It’ll be UIQ most probably. Symbian foundation will take time..its unlikely that SE wil put off their smartphone line til next year.
I’m sorry but chances are it will NOT be a UIQ phone. Judging from the video shown at the java one show it will run XMB. The icons used and the layout of the music and web browser all point towards XMB. And why do you people even want UIQ? its been a disaster for SE, get rid of it. This new phone will probably go toe to toe with the iphone and what hope will it have if its running UIQ? Sony have already made their intentions clear that all their portable devices will merge and sync well with each other. This phone will probably be made to work well with the PS3 which of course runs XMB

Yea, once you find out what would be nice if Sony Ericsson developed a network of some sort, where we can talk to developers. I came from Open Source family where I find it incredibly hard or impossible to get to any of the developers.
16GB is not making such a impression on me, as I’d like some of the things with that same memory to be fixed. For example when it comes to memory, W960 when its 8GB starts to fill up to the max, phone just slows down, so basically for optimal use it’s best to not go over 6GB.
And again, it’s the best to keep all the application open in order for it not to slow down, which will of course eat your battery alive. Yea I could go and on with some things, but generally I’m very happy

High resolution display, at lest 320×480 (iphone resolution) or higher makes it easy to create playlists like on a comp and fine to watch videos, no fysical buttons or as few as possible thanks! Skip actuall bottons from earliers w-serie and make it wholedisplayphone instead!
Expansioncardslot is a must beside at least 16GB, like N96, or more!
Support for several video formats like I900!
