  4. thotee says:

  5. Chris S says:

  6. [...] guter Letzt gibt es beim USEB Screenshots der X1-Oberfl

  7. daki says:

As they have put the new opera mobile 9.5 browser it can handle flash (lite) :)

  8. otasim says:

hmmm… colors look like on a 4096 color screen *lol* Why the heck they didn’t put in an 262000 color screen like Samsung? 65000 col is rubbish, and they call it multimedia?!

  9. synn says:

What’s with all these trolls lately? Go easy on the Hatorade, will ya?

  10. makr says:

the xperia can’t handle 262k or 16m colors because WINDOWS MOBILE DOES NOT SUPPORT THEM.

How many times do we have to remind these kids about that fact…

  11. otasim says:

@makr: so why does Samsung Omnia 262000 colors running win mobile? even the old HTC ameo has 262000 colors? just for fun? ;-)

  12. otasim says:

    ^^ HTC Advantage X7500 and X7501 ^^

  13. dan_musica says:

Though Omnia or other WinMo based PPC have 262k Color Screen, but 65k color is an effective display. WinMo can’t hold 262k or more color on its screen. A reason, saving battery life.

  14. Waco says:

Omnia just would be able to display 262k colors, but beacause of the WM, it’s only 62k. But Samsung can still boast that Omnia has 262k colors…

  15. Waco says:

    * Imeant 65k

  16. makr says:

    @ otasim

now do you get it?  as Waco posted:
Samsung & some Windows Mobile devices like the LG KS20, including those you mentioned claim that they have 262k screens but in reality they are only using 65k.  They are limited by WM coz WM only supports 65k.  sure their screen can support 262k, but that’s just it, support… they don’t ACTUALLY show 262k, only the native 65k that you’re complaining about.

  17. makr says:

& regarding the omnia, you might want to check this out:
    http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i900_omnia-review-267p2.php
read the lower part of the page, titled “controversial wide qvga screen”
& in case you want to check the specs on those win mobile phones w/ “262k” colors… you might to want to check that they only have 65k EFFECTIVE colors.

  18. otasim says:

thank you makr. now I got it. So the display doesn’t switch to 262000 colors like the SE P900/910 when looking some photos?

  19. makr says:

nope, it doesn’t… but you can’t really see the difference between 65k & 262k when viewing photos unless you really look for the differences in color gradients..
the differences are actually more profound when viewing high quality videos.

  20. color blind says:

the number of colors on screen does not matter.
    its the resolution people, c’mon!

  21. otasim says:

all right, uptdate for everyone: win mobile supports 24 bit colors. but its up to the manufacturer to implement it. this was mentioned on esato board too. bye bye x1 - hello samsung :-)

  22. otasim says:

@ color blind: so you just need an old monocrome display? :-) I can clearly see the difference between 56k and 262k col display with same contrast ratio & brightness. (but I can’t see diffrences between 262k and 16M col.)
