Sony Ericsson W380 Review

Scotsboyuk has been busy reviewing the low-end Sony Ericsson W380, and has come out quite impressed by this light-weighter. While he thinks the camera is somewhat of a gimmick feature and that the price is set too high, he can’t get his eyes off from this funky-looking musician, fully boasting the Walkman player (version 2) and a FM-radio with RDS features.

Be sure not to miss out his 4,000+ word review of the W380 - right over here!

I love my little purple phone :)

piece of S**T, not even a 2 megapixel camera, why bother??

james: It’s a WALKMAN. It’s focal point is not the camera, it’s the Walkman. People who buy this phone for the camera are an idiot and thus deserve a crap camera. And 1.3MP camera, while not record breaking, is still decent enough.

James, if your going to leave a reply or comment please try to make it constructive. If you read other reviews on this phone it’s actually pretty good all considered in the price. If your after a decent camera then i’ll recommend getting a proper camera for the job. After all cameras on phones are a gimmick.
Also don’t get suckered into the “mega pixel myth” surrounding cameras, it’s the least important factor. Anyone reading this and is intrigued just Google “mega pixel myth”

I bought this phone today, and it is fantastic, especially at such a low price. It has everything you need, [except viedo], and the motion sensor alarm is a really good feature. Very nice colour and very easy to use. Fantastic music quality.

Has anyone else had problems with the screen spliting and reversing….I have had mine less than a week and its broken already! i really like the phone and will just get it replaced unless this is a recurring problem….what say you?

Sam, I’d get that phone right back to the place you bought it, and have them replace it. That’s not supposed to happen :)

Sam, my phone just doesn’t display anything although it’s switched on.  The best thing is to get it replaced like MIchell said.

I have had same prob with phone. U can make screen appear, albiet temporary, once in while by closing and waiting a few seconds, keep repeating until it works. This is my second faulty phone and is 4 days old. Never been dropped or anything. Daugther has same phone with other issues. My first phones on button stopped working at 3 WEEKS old. Too bad. Like it when it works.
This my corrected comment in this forum. Plz delete other 2.

W380 has not been designed for low signals. So, you can get “emergency only” message in case you do not have a stright signal, or in case you put it in a poket, you carried out in your hands for more than 1 minutes.
Poor sensivety in the receiver module.
