Sony Ericsson Update Service… updated

seus-splash

The people who’ve recently tried to update their Sony Ericsson phone firmware via the update service application have probably noticed that before initializing, the program updated itself… and then popped up with a brand new interface. Yep, the update service is the last of  Sony Ericsson’s holy trio of apps (PC Suite, Media Manager and the said service) to receive a GUI reharsh. I haven’t been able to spot any significant new functionality, but it’s as good as it gets right now, so there’s not much to ask for.

You can download the new version of SEUS (v2.9.5.16) from the support section of Sony Ericsson’s website. No need to bother if you already have an older one, though. Just start it up and it’ll perform the update automatically.
And yes, they finally did include a better icon. Screenshots after the break.

If you’re referring to the last icon, that’s just for mobile broadband cards.

  5. Sam says:

The only major changes is that you no longer need flash to be able to use SEUS ! :)

  11. Joe says:

    Okay,
So I did the update thing, and it said my phone already had the software, but if I was having problems to re-install it, so I did.
The installation failed because I think my battery was 99.9% charged, and now my phone won’t turn on.
I’m in desperate need of help…
    Please?

  12. NightBlade says:

It wasn’t because of the battery. You need to either reflash the phone yourself (via, say A2 uploader) or send it to a sevice center.

  13. Adam says:

Joe, I had that problem before, try update it again, worked for me :)
