The people who’ve recently tried to update their Sony Ericsson phone firmware via the update service application have probably noticed that before initializing, the program updated itself… and then popped up with a brand new interface. Yep, the update service is the last of Sony Ericsson’s holy trio of apps (PC Suite, Media Manager and the said service) to receive a GUI reharsh. I haven’t been able to spot any significant new functionality, but it’s as good as it gets right now, so there’s not much to ask for.
You can download the new version of SEUS (v2.9.5.16) from the support section of Sony Ericsson’s website. No need to bother if you already have an older one, though. Just start it up and it’ll perform the update automatically.
And yes, they finally did include a better icon. Screenshots after the break.

this update is fuckin hell.
my phone was working fine but with a little bugs like slow loading time and seldom touch screen malfunctioning… then when i was surfin for a solution, this update thingy came up and presto i did it. my update wasn’t successful coz it was like not fully charged [99.9%].. when i removed my USB cable, my G900 just lit a grey light. FUCK. some update.
Help is what i really need.

This is a mistake in the instructions -
You actually need to hold down button “5″ down whilst inserting the USB connection.
Otherwise nothing happens!

Andre Giant is correct – I have just updated my wifes T303 (kept loccking up) – holding C button whilst nsterting USB cable did not work (phone just came up with message about mass storage). Holding down the ‘5′ key whilst inserting the USB worked – software was recognised and the software upgrade completed OK.

I’m having trouble updating the X1, can anyone help? It says to hold down the volume button and power buttton, but nothing happens…

hello , i want download this software , please help me !
i don’t know what the problem is, but i updated my sony ericsson phone just fine and holding down the c button did work. my instructions were thst the batterry needs to be at least 50%.was 59%
For a SE W980i I can confirm that holding C button whilst inserting the USB cable will not work (phone came up with message about mass storage). However, holding down the ‘5′ worked. Strange that SE did not fix this bug….!!??!
i’ve got more or less the same problem…
the update process was interrupted and i don’t know why it happned
because i know that my w960i was fully charged before i began the process…
now i can’t even charge my phone nor see anything on my screen,
and when i’m using the update service again, i’m not getting the option to reinstall the firmware,

i am having same problems with my satio it recorgnizes the phone but it says i already have the latest software.but i don’thave the wvga recording option on my phone.tried 3 times still same no change happened..everything is ok but why it says that i already have the latest software…

i’m having problems with the memory, it basically does allow me to save photo’s and the file go corrupte when i try to put on anything using memory!!

Also, i have to mention that my phone somehow doesn’t have option for remote update service directly from the phone… i wanted to try that too, even if that would cost me, but no update service option in my phone settings menu……. help!
I hate the f*****g latest update software of SE.. theres no option for reinstalling your software even if you have the latest one.. bring back the old version.. booooooohhhh SE
Sony Ericsson serivce centre is very worst support in tirunelveli. they never service the sony mobile correctly. they have no knowledge to find the fault and guide the ppl what they want to do. they are easily said that board prblm, send the moble to chennai. they have no idea even a tiny prblm too.
