Sony Ericsson T700 pictures

Sony Ericsson made it official a few hours ago, so here are some pictures of the Sony Ericsson T700. There are no high quality press pictures of the Red on Black or Shining Silver variants yet, although you can find smaller versions on SE’s website.

Hi all. Got the phone a few days ago, the silver version (so the upper part is not black but shiny silver color). The buttons are plastic, as is the lower part (gery on the image) of the front panel. It feels good qualiy, but plastic, with silver paint. (I wonder when the paining will fade.)

The LED lighting of the buttons are too dim. Thus typing at daylight is okay, at night okay, but in darker (not completely dark) environment, such as an elevator, you simply don’t see the letters on the buttons.

The screen is nice, user interface is very nice, quite responsive. Some ppl say why isn’t the screen larger. Is is large, and, given the thinness of the phone, it is very much surprising where the electric parts are in this phone — you realize it when inserting the SIM card and battery: it takes half of the phone’s thickness, just behind the LCD. I was like ”WOW, where is the circuitry in this phone??”.

The vertical spacing of the buttons are quite problematic. The buttons are at the bottom, so, when you hold the phone, and use your thumb to type, your thumb is just 90 degree to the buttons — it is easy to press two buttons at a time. :-( Needs some practicing.

The phone is quite customizable, but, ridiculously, I cant figure out the timeout of the screen saver, and when the screen goes completely black (quite soon … but it is good for the battey). If someone knows how to set the timings, please help!

Battery life is amazing. Media playing is prefect. Reception strength seems below average, but usually okay.

Overall, I really like this phone, but it has some minor, but quite disturbing flaws, especially in the OS. (So it could be fixed with an upgrade, I believe.)

    Hope this helps!
