In a matter of hours Sony Ericsson will announce its new W705 (codename: Rika), W705u (codename: Norika) and MBS-900 Bluetooth speaker system in conjunction with the MTV Europe Music Awards where Sony Ericsson is one of the main sponsors. As it’s getting close to midnight here, I’m not really in a mood to write a ton about what will be the last announcement of the year, so here goes a set of specifications instead.

  • FM radio
  • HSPA 900 / 2100 MHz
  • Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR

  • Built-in YouTube support
  • Google Maps
  • 2.4 inch TFT display, QVGA resolution, 262.144 colours
  • 3.2 megapixel fixed focus camera with an LED flash
  • 4 GB memory card bundled
  • Available in Q1 2009 in two colour variants
  • Dimensions and weight identical to G705
  • UMA support in the Orange-exclusive W705u

Wireless Home Audio System MBS-900:

  • 2.1 audio via Bluetooth A2DP
  • 3.5 mm jack line-in
  • Built-in FM receiver
  • Touch-sensitive controls on the speaker
  • Monochrome OLED display for song details as well as music settings
  • Mutes music at incoming calls

  1. Sammy says:

Yet again another “almost perfect” walkman. The W902 lacks WLAN and GPS, all this is missing is auto focus camera!
    How hard is it!
    :(

  2. Curtis says:

wait a sec…W705 is gonna be released at a later time than G705 even though they are the exact same with a different faceplate?

  3. No auto focus?
    shame..

  4. Gandalf says:

The style is good, but that “Walkman” written on a piece of plastic isn’t very pretty… And yes, it is ALMOST perfect without the auto focus.

  5. mahesh says:

  6. don Cesc says:
