Some postponements…
It looks like some have spotted the poll here on USEB, this time with the subject of what you guys think will be announced on the 17th. Many seem to think that Sony Ericsson will announce a few high-end smart phones, and I do understand why you’d think so, as just about every sign has been pointing to that. But stuff gets postponed, and that’s what has happened in the case of Beibei and Paris.
These phones will not be announced on the 17th, unless there’ll be a major change of plans just moments before the announcements on the 17th, although I extremely doubt this, seeing the announcement events are held in so many countries.
It’s sad, though, as especially the G702 (Beibei) looks to be an awesome phone. On the bright side, though, there has been talk about hardware upgrades, which I personally believe is true, and that should be the reason for the postponements.
It’ll be a mix of low-end and mid-end phones, and of course the camera flagship Shiho, which is awesome, by the way. More - or should I say everything? - on that one later this week.

I see. Well if its for the sake of improving the end product, it isnt that much of a dissappointment. Just somewhat annoying that were having to wait for so long, but that said we really want it to be worth it in the end. Its pretty frikkin obvious it would be down to changes again. With 3 odd protos for paris alone, there must have been changes throughout the design process. However, because its both of them, it seems clear the problem lies with integrating UIQ 3.3 with hardware (BTW, am I the 2% who got this right mizz, cus I suggested this over at esato when I said “Id bet that the dissappointment is more about the 17th itself. Maybe what were expecting on that day will be postponed. Not that it wont come, we just might have to wait longer (:S :S :S)”- that was over 20 pages ago though lol!). Well thats all well and good, but when do you think we may see them announced then? any wild guess at that? Do you reckon the release date will be affected? Or have you not been told much about these changes? Cheers man, thanks for this post.

Hmmm, looking forward to Shiho then. Wondering if Eldar was right about Shiho looking more like a camera then a mobile phone.
The back looks extremely much like a camera.
I just hope that Shiho lives up to the expectations…
shiho is amazing the camera is a 7.2mp camera with face detection it is also quadband and a bar type phone the camera lens will either slide down or it will open to the side like the c902 it is an interesting prospect i can’t say anything else i might already be in trouble ony is watching me

Ummmmm…wasn’t the now-named Paris upgraded in November, thus the reason for the delay up until now? Why is it being upgraded again? And how long will it take this time?
There’s been MANY upgrades on that one, actually… My guess is July.
So, will this twice-upgraded Paris’s specs finally be the phone we’ve all been waiting for?
Ho, hum… after being hyped, and non-announced several times, it turned out to be yet another so-so, unless the leaked specs are very wrong. Now it’s non-announced yet again. How unsurprising. Quite frankly, if it weren’t for USEB, I wouldn’t be reading the SE news anymore.
