As promised here’s a camera sample from the G702 also known as Beibei. As said earlier on, this phone packs the best fixed focus camera I’ve seen in any camera phone, and on the software side of things, Sony Ericsson has really upped its game. Even though this is a really good sample considering it’s a prototype, it can actually do better than this - at least it does do better in a few other samples I’ve got, although these can’t be shared (obvious reasons). We’ve removed pretty much all the EXIF data not to reveal too much, once again, our reasons are quite obvious. Press the thumbnail for full view.

What is the difference between the G702 and G900? When are you reviewing the G900?
The main difference lies in the fact that G702 features a GPS, and that the camera is fixed focus, whereas the G900 doesn’t feature a GPS, and its camera does feature auto focus. I’m still not sure about the software, but there’s a possibility that G702 is running UIQ 3.3.
G900 review coming fairly soon. I have not yet received my review unit, although it can’t take long now.

Thanks! I think I might wait for till the G702 comes out before I choose which phone I want. As the camera is important as well as the inclusion of GPS.

I love the colours, very high contrast and fine sharpness,Noise reduction does not kick too much details. if this algorithm was applied on Paris, C902 and G900 camera then i’ll be very very happy with the camera quality - that’s if it’s possible
