You do know that QWERY keyboards get their names due to the key layout, right? If you’ve got a European keyboard, there’s a large chance you’ll notice the letters Q, W, E, R, T, Y at the top left of your keyboard.
This is a full QWERTY keyboard, not half or whatever.
Well, I would prefer double colour keyboard and it seems this kind of design also exists (at Esato forum under Rumours thread PeterKay confirms that).
Anyway, the keyboard disappoints me.
when i first saw the n95, i said i wish they put a keyboard on to it to make it usefull–> i really hate typing using t9/numberpad.
this phone does it all for me, the d pad is what i wanted on my p1i, and it has a good key system,, i mean using the p1i keyboard proved to me that its simple and effective / saves space to make the device smaller.
again i like what i see, but i will miss the jog wheel
I agree with the all black keyboard.. Black & white combo isn’t very business looking, especially since the P5i is supposed to be a business phone…
But i like the screen, it definitely is a 2.8″ & i have to say that the call & end keys must be touch sensitive… & the navipad must be similar to the touchpad found in the X1… U agree?
There’s more and more noise on forums regarding this product…
And the lastest sentence from Easto claims that (quoted from Mobile-Review’s Eldar) it’s more of and mass-market, non highend device.
Is that possible? Are we talking about Pnext, SE flagship here??
Michell: What do you say to the people now claiming Paris is some mid-end device? Personally, I don’t believe them because it’s you, m-one and ares I trust, but do you have anything to say to allay concerns? Maybe just a wink? ;-D
Well, I was told that Paris will be an all-round high-ender.
There’ll be some more high-enders at the end of this year but that’ll be the first interesting one of the upcoming UIQ flagships. Besides this, a rocker keypad in this layout is never intended for mass market. It’s clearly an high-end business modell.
hey michell i was wondering do you guys have any idea what the resolution will be looking like? because after looking at that hard that looks like its greater then 320 x 240 :D…or maybe im wrong what’s your guess?
i think black/white buttons looks great. i hate the ’stereotype’ that a business phone has to be black and mainstream. as for the slider, i hope this doen’t make the phone too chunky.
I bet the screen will not exceed 2.6″. there will only be improvements on contrast and brightness. just look at the progress p800->p900->p910->p990->p1 the screens got smaller! I think it will be 2.6 VGA
I like it!
thanks for this new pic
ps: Bider’s photoshop was very close.
Its difficult to tell about the colour of the keys, theyre too blurry. Its looking great though
…wow…from the side it looks like N95 :)….nice looking though
:O how can you say that!! This makes the N95 look like a phone booth, never mind a brick!!!
I think, I expected a lot.
Keyboard is not strictly qwerty, it shd be called either rocker or half-qwerty, isn’t it ?

wow! the screen looks big here!!
But the keys are blured
The Qwerty has invaded Europe, but a village still holds out against them. Its name? France! With its “proud” AZERTY keyboard. lol
Thank you, waiting for the picture of the back
It is difficult to tell whether the keys really black and white, or if it’s merely reflection.
Regardless, looks great.
here we can see that the keyboard is COMPLETELY black ((SO MUCH COOLER))
the white sides are reflected light, look closely at the area around the tumb….
this is the way i like it …. FULL BLACK.
also there is another pic here that confirms it
http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=157394&start=6840
and thank you Mizzle for the pic…
screen looks amazing and definitly 2.8″
You’re right. Definitely a reflection. While the black/white thing wasn’t bad-looking, all black is definitely better.
Also, the screen in these latest shots looks gigantic! It’s puzzling why the others don’t–but doesn’t matter. Definitely 2.8″ and probably VGA.
Verliebt in Paris…
…
yes kevin…
in the previous shots; the screen LOOKED smaller but the fact was somthing else:
have a look here: i did a little messurments.

Yup, I remember.
(I’m laurenke on Esato.)
Now your calculations have photographic evidence as well as mathematical evidence.
Great, but if the screen isn’t VGA, they can forget about it. I get the impression that this is the view held by most other potential users.
wow….. i was surprised…
48 hours to the next pic from Mizzle
and hopefuly 1 week to the full video.
Hopefully the video has a full spec-sheet at the end.

I dont want it to be double colour! Itd make a business man look like a fool! Besides, itd just be confusing to look at.

So they’re talking about another device assuming it’s Paris.
Makes sense to me.
Thanks!
m-one,
Uffff…
doministry, where did Eldar say that!?
I’ve found another photos of the phone. http://uiqmania.cz/index.php?page=clanky&article=551
It’s from yesterday.

@Tigershark42
Well, check the vivid Esato Rumours thread
It’s quoted by one poster.
BTW X1 was advertised more like a media device, not business….

why do they put the fastport on th side of the phone? shure, looks cool but it is uncomterbale ( sorry for the spelling, i’m a swede
)
I hope the screen is still not crappy QVGA 240×320…
