October 15th, 2007 at 2:57 pm
W810i is helen, not helene. Checked in phone.
And afaik W960i is Mooi, not Maria, maria has to be announced this year or begin 2008
October 15th, 2007 at 3:18 pm
O, i just find out Z750i is Daniela
October 15th, 2007 at 3:57 pm
Thanks, Dominick!
I actually knew about all, but thought I had updated it some time ago. Well, not the Z750 - I found out what this device’s codename is yesterday.
Anyhow, thanks a lot, and the list is updated now!
October 16th, 2007 at 4:06 am
Both K630 and V640 were code named Jie.
October 16th, 2007 at 9:43 am
Actually, K630 was called Jie, while V640 is Jie_Vodafone. So list updated
By the way, love your concepts!
October 16th, 2007 at 7:20 pm
Huh, I thought Jie was supposed to be a vodafone only device :s
November 7th, 2007 at 6:00 pm
Any idea about K660 and W380?
afaik W890i is Akiko, but i’m not shure though
November 7th, 2007 at 6:41 pm
Hi Dominick,
Yes, the W890 is Akiko. I think K660 is Lena, and W380 is Alona.
November 9th, 2007 at 4:46 pm
Look at this, posted by shaliron on esato:
Hmm… here’s what I’ve got:
Kim = J110
Melody = J120
Gisela = K200/220
Sania = T650/658
Anabel = Z250/258
Nathalie = Z750
All have been announced, but if Daniela isn’t the Z750, then it may still be the slider Cyber-shot phone.
Real or not?
November 9th, 2007 at 5:32 pm
All those have already been posted here with the exception of Z750 being Nathalie, which I am not totally sure of being correct. But I’ll add it to the list, just in case it turns out to be correct.
Thanks, again
November 9th, 2007 at 5:41 pm
Ok,
I knew that all have already been posted. I wanted to make it bold, but no bb code supported
November 10th, 2007 at 2:24 pm
You have to use “strong” with brackets instead of [b]
November 18th, 2007 at 6:06 pm
“minor list update”
I don’t see a big difference :p
November 18th, 2007 at 6:29 pm
That’s why it’s called minor
Nah, it was just that I added the small “system” at the bottom of the list (star and strikethrough).
November 22nd, 2007 at 2:24 pm
Sony have just confirmed that the Lena is actually the W380 and NOT the K660.
November 22nd, 2007 at 2:29 pm
Thank you!
The list will be updated. May I ask where the information is located at?
November 22nd, 2007 at 5:13 pm
I don’t think K660i is alona, beacause that is supposed to be an walkman phone (so i think it’s not announced yet, if W380i is lena indeed)
November 22nd, 2007 at 6:18 pm
Oh yes, I forgot about that. Thanks.
But I don’t think I’ll edit it before I get a final name for it - it has got the * at the end, so it’s subject to change.
Thanks again, though.
January 3rd, 2008 at 1:08 pm
i like my Elena, though.
for the name as well as the phone. but was wondering why do they religiously stick to female names? nokia has “siberia” (e50), “charlie” (6630) … etc.
January 3rd, 2008 at 1:16 pm
That’s simply just how Sony Ericsson does it
January 3rd, 2008 at 1:24 pm
oh - i have always liked the “it is because it is” types of answers … or may be that is what makes me wonder at things?
see you around!
January 3rd, 2008 at 4:48 pm
Sony Ericsson has chosen to codename their phones that way, there is no other explanation. They do also use names from the WTA Women’s league.
(I’ve edited your comment as I found it inappropriate)
January 7th, 2008 at 10:44 pm
Do you know the codenames of the new phones (W350, W760 and Z555)
January 11th, 2008 at 12:35 am
Added them, Dominick
January 11th, 2008 at 9:02 am
are you know codenames of SE J230i
January 11th, 2008 at 10:57 am
how to check the codenames in the phone??:)
January 11th, 2008 at 3:40 pm
J230 is called Fia.
It’s possible to view the codename on older phones only (in the service menu) or by looking through the system files on smart phones.
January 11th, 2008 at 4:34 pm
Isn’t it possible for newer phones?
January 11th, 2008 at 4:48 pm
No, it’s not possible
Not via the service menu at least.
January 24th, 2008 at 9:59 am
The R306 is called Irina.
January 24th, 2008 at 6:08 pm
And R300i, T280i and T270i?
January 24th, 2008 at 6:20 pm
I’m working on the rest…
January 26th, 2008 at 6:28 pm
W350 is Johanna, not Lena.
January 26th, 2008 at 11:55 pm
Fixed, thanks! W380 is Lena - don’t know how I got that fixed up.
February 4th, 2008 at 4:50 am
QECU, on February 2nd, 2008 at 4:39 am Said:

QECU, on February 2nd, 2008 at 4:42 am Said:

February 9th, 2008 at 2:54 pm
According to Maximys’ blog:

K818c Zi,
W888c AiGPRS,
etc
February 9th, 2008 at 3:00 pm
Thanks, but I try to stick to the generic international ones only.
February 9th, 2008 at 3:02 pm
W960 - mooi, mooi is beautyfull in Dutch, and it sure is “mooi”
February 13th, 2008 at 5:34 pm
Hey, a dutch man
Zo mooi vind ik hem niet hoor.
W580im is laura i-mode according to maximys’s blog.
February 15th, 2008 at 1:46 am
I think W980 should be Alona?
February 15th, 2008 at 12:17 pm
What about the C-series? Or did I miss them while scrolling through?
February 15th, 2008 at 3:58 pm
C702 is Ning project, designed in Beijing, China
February 15th, 2008 at 10:36 pm
QECU,
Nope, that’s not a mistake, as far as I know.
Muhummad-Oli,
Only C702 at the moment. Trying to fetch C902’s codename!
Sun,
Thank you
March 3rd, 2008 at 3:10 pm

March 11th, 2008 at 7:47 pm
All I can say is that Emilie will be a smartphone

March 17th, 2008 at 3:05 pm
Hi,
I just got a list of future devices to be launched on Vodafone Live. Among them appears an SE W780 due on 20th of July this year.
Has any of guys heard about this model? Or know about a codename that might be for this one?
PS: Not trying to start a fake rumour or soemthing like that.
March 17th, 2008 at 9:10 pm
To julian - do you have any proof, e.g. some picture of paper U have?
March 18th, 2008 at 9:48 am
the only proof i have is the list i got on my e-mail. If you would like, i can copy/paste the content of the e-mail when i’m using my personal PC, not the one i have at work.
I would rather end this discussion than start a fake rumour. It may be that it is only a mistake in the list i received.
March 18th, 2008 at 1:38 pm
To be honest, with a release date like that, I’d expect it to be the W760i, and they made a simple mistake. Another thing that leads me to believe this is that “W780i” is the old naming structure, all new phones announced from now should have the new nomenclature.
I don’t mean to say you’re wrong or to shoot you down or anything buddy.
March 18th, 2008 at 1:49 pm
Thanks for the info Muhammad, I don’t care if i am wrong or not. just want to know what to expect on 20th July. No plane shot down here
March 19th, 2008 at 3:33 pm
