G502 & Z780 Announced

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

Sony Ericsson today announced the two generation web phones, G502 & Z780, as expected. We pretty much already revealed the G502 for Sony Ericsson yesterday, so you can check it out right here and with the first-ever live picture of it here.

The other phone to be announced was the Z780. A clamshell phone similar to the Z770, with similar specifications and design. It features a 2.2 inch TFT display of QVGA resolution, a 2 mega pixel camera with fixed focus, a built-in GPS as well as tri-band HSDPA network support for enhanced Internet browsing speeds. Full press release here.

Latest Rumours – BeiBei & Z780

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

Maximys over at semcblog has posted a picture of the upcoming design flip phone Z780. My guess that it’ll be the American version of the Z770. Rumoured specifications of the Z780 are very much like the Z770, including a 2 mega pixel fixed focus camera, QVGA display and it is based on the new A2 software platform.

In other news, more pictures of the upcoming BeiBei have been posted by the Chinese website yesky.com. It shows the new & enhanced user interface in UIQ 3.3, which is more finger friendly, and generally looks nicer.

z770_large_pic.jpg

It’s a handset we have become familiar with over the past week or two as spy pics appeared, but today sees the official announcement of the Z770.

It’s a mid-range clamshell, a form factor that Sony Ericsson seems to be giving some love to recently. Features wise the Z770 comes with a 2 MP camera, with 2.5x digital zoom; HSDPA support, and Google Maps for Mobile pre-installed. It’s not going to weigh you down either, being 93 x 48 x 15.5 mm and only 93 grams.

The press release can be found here.

All in all it looks to be a rather nice wee handset, if a bit low on features, but then it’s looks are its main feature.

Saturday, February 2nd, 2008

A limited special edition variant of Z310 and Z610 has been created for the Orange network by our very own favourite manufacturer. Both phones will only come in this blue colour variant with a large Tweety picture of the back of it. Furthermore, both phones will come with pre-installed Tweety content.
