Tuesday, July 20th, 2010
With all the spotlight on the Android phones, its a bit refreshing to finally see something on the (practically forgotten) Symbian devices. As Krazy D posted about the Vivaz Pink a while back, this time Sony Ericsson Product Manager- Maiko Ishida discusses the Sony Ericsson Vivaz, and the introduction of the Vivaz Pink to the Vivaz family on the Sony Ericsson ProductBlog Channel.

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010
Those who were waiting for the QWERTY version of the Vivaz, the Vivaz Pro can rejoice. The phone is finally being shipped to stores in ’selected markets’. Pricing is not yet available and should vary depending on markets; more on that as it comes in ….

For those who don’t quite know, the phone is marginally thicker than the standard Vivaz and packs a 4-row QWERTY keypad but unfortunately has a 5MP Camera instead of the 8MP camera on the standard Vivaz. If any of you do get your hands on one, do post your experience with it on our forum …..

Official Announcement

Thanks for heads up NBA Fan.

Sony Ericsson Sees 292% Smartphone Growth

Friday, May 7th, 2010

With their finances looking a little better this year, after some heavy cost cutting and job losses it has to be said, Sony Ericsson could finally start to see some light at the end of the tunnel. Well that light seems to have gotten a bit brighter if their smartphone sales are anything to go by. Year on year from Q1 2009 to Q1 2010 Sony Ericsson saw its smartphone sales grow by an astonishing 292%. That’s one hell of an increase and it is seems to be chiefly dependent on sales of Satio and Vivaz. Importantly sales of the X10, Sony Ericsson’s current flagship handset, are not counted in the figure so it will be interesting to see just how that handset has affected the company’s performance, if not forthcoming handsets like the X10 Mini and Mini Pro.

Vivaz – Video Recording Sample

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

Mitch has posted up a video taken by Vivaz, which nicely shows off its recording capabilities. He also posted up a collection of pictures of Vivaz, which are just beautiful to look at. It’s as good an image of the handset you’ll get without actually holding it in your hand. Mitch made an interesting comment about Vivaz seeming large rin photos than it really is or somehow losing part of its aesthetic quality. Mitch is bang on the money here because seeing he handset and holding it are two totally different things, it really does look great up close and feels superb in the hand; just the right size. Check out the video below and head on over to se-blog.com to check out the pictures.
