The new Sony Ericsson P1 comes bundled with a Bluetooth GPS from Wayfinder and the software (Wayfinder Navigator 7) is pre installed when buying the phone. Included is a 1-year subscription to the service. All you have to do is activate the service, and you should be ready to go!
Earlier today Wayfinder said, that they’d received to gigantic orders for GPS units and navigation software. Reportedly, it was an order from a “big mobile manufacturer” - Sony Ericsson, as we’ve just found out.
This makes the P1 be more like the N95, and I’m seriously considering getting the P1, too, along with my N95 and P990. Should be a nice little family, don’t you think? Well, I should be getting a test unit soon, so will see if it’s something for me
By the way, this is for selected markets only.

In addition to the earlier post about VoIP for UIQ 3, I would like to notify that fring is now available for UIQ 3 - just like ares (without naming the application) told you guys it would be. The fring application is now available for P990, and according to an e-mail fring sent us, more devices will follow. Among these will undoubtedly be P1 and and the recently announced W960. At this point in time fring is not working on M600 and W950 due to limitations.
Fring will allow P990 users to make free calls using VoIP, chat at Skype, MSN and GoogleTalk using integrated contact list. More about fring in the links supplied above.

[digg=http://digg.com/gadgets/Sony_Ericsson_W910_W960_Walkman_Phones_Announced/blog] We’ve known Sony Ericsson W910 for quite some time now by the codename Shinobu. Now it’s official, and the name ended up being W910, as said on many forums. W910 has a TFT-screen with a QVGA-resolution and can show up to 262.000 colors. It’s just 12,5 millimeters thin and weighs 86 grams.
W910 is the first phone with Walkman 3.0 and PlayNow 4.0. Shortly, this means that the phone is totally prepared to play and download music, which can be done via HSDPA (3,6 mbit/s). Walkman 3.0 has an updated user interface compared to version 2.0, and it introduces a series of new features - such as SensMe, which makes it possible to create playlists according to your mood, style or tempo. 1 gigabyte memory card comes along with W910, and can be expanded. The camera is a 2-megapixel camera without auto focus. W910 will be available in quarter 4 pricing at about 450 euros.
W960 is the successor of W950, and comes with twice the amount of memory. Just like W910 you can shake the phone if you want to change song etc. W960 has a 2.6 inch touchscreen with QVGA-resolution and can show 262.144 colors. On the back you’ll find a 3.2 megapixel camera with auto focus.
W960 measures 109 x 55 x 16 millimeters and weighs in at 116 grams. Other than that W960 also features W-LAN, so you can downloade music on PlayNow at home. It has 3G, but no HSDPA.
W960 will be out in quarter 4 at an expected price at about 700 euros.

[digg=http://digg.com/gadgets/New_Sony_Ericsson_high_end_phones_mentioned_by_Gracenote/blog] The upcoming announcement later this evening will feature about 5 phones. Those are said to be Sofia, Anastasia, Mooi, Nicole and Shinobu. Shortly before the announcement, Esato news-shark axxxr found a story, which is quite interesting. I quote:
Gracenote said Sony Ericsson will embed the offering on all its music-enabled handsets starting with the new Walkman models W910, W960 and the K850 Cyber-shot.
Interesting, right? Well, I’d bet we’ll all see some unofficial official pictures of the phones. It might be Sofia will end up looking like the photoshop by Deuxani on the left.
