Well known GSMArena has now posted a review of the Sony Ericsson K530 and K770. K530 has 3G and can be considered as a slight update to the K610 released about a year ago. You can find the review of K530 right here, and if you’re too lazy to read it all, then here’s the conclusion.
That’s about how things are at the Sony Ericsson developing center. Designers are called upon to improve looks, developers are tweaking up the firmwarе, but somehow the user interface and functions tend to be ignored. It’s not the fault of K530 only. It’s safe to say, most of the new releases suffer the same weakness. It’s been quite some time since we last saw a real innovation, except in strictly high-end handsets. The same, of course, holds true about Nokia. Recurring criticisms seem to meet with indifference. Sony Ericsson K530 is very similar to the K610 we tested a little over a year ago. Save for the better exterior, the few novelties are the FM radio, A2DP-enabled Bluetooth and Track ID. Will the few improvements justify the price tag?
GSMArena has also posted a review of K770, which I’ve forgotten to post about. K770 is a mid-end CyberShot phone and is meant to be a cheaper version of K850, like K550 was the cheap version of K800/K810. You can find the review of K770 here, and the conclusion is here:
The Cyber-shot line is astir. Following the K810, the 5 megapixel monster K850 took a bow. Having recently given you the leader of the Cyber-shot pack, we had our hands on the sleek and thin 3 megapixel K770. We liked this Cyber-shot for its design and friendly handling. A bit of a disappointment is the stale user interface. The other serious drawback is the low video capturing resolution. The photo quality couldn’t impress us either, as it wasn’t near the one of its Cyber-shot elder brothers. The camera performance was further beaten down by the lack of a xenon flash and the lack of the BestPic shooting mode. So in all honesty, the new Sony Ericsson K770 seems pretty much as a Cyber-shot-branded replica of the T650. Fair enough, there’s nothing wrong with trying to build on a successful design. Without much effort, Sony Ericsson adds a stylish mid-range handset to its Cyber-shot lineup.

Club-SE.pl has apparently gotten their hands on the unannounced W890i, and have done a small review of the phone (in Polish, that is!). This review gives us a few new details about the phone. According to the poster, the depth of the phone will be only 9.6 mm (against the 9.4 mm in W880), and not the 12 mm said earlier. Also the screen is now a 2.0 inch screen with QVGA resolution. From what I understand of the review, W890 has excellent 3D graphics capabilities (must be because of JP-8). Furthermore it mentions something about TV, but I don’t know what it means. If somebody out there, who understands the review, is reading this, please leave a comment!
Here’s the link for the Polish review.

GSMArena has finally posted the final review of the upcoming K850. It’s a very good and thorough review, and I’m really impressed by the phone. Definitely my next phone! As a matter of fact, I’m getting it the minute it gets available
GSMArena has earlier on done a few comparison camera reviews, where K850 was one of the competitors, so I was awaiting the review of the phone. You can find the full review of the prototype model here, and if you’re a bit lazy, then here’s the conclusion:
We believe the Sony Ericsson K850 lives up to the responsibility of being a landmark product in the company portfolio. With rich camera settings, the K850 comes incredibly close to stand-alone digital cameras. The novelties in navigation suggest the K850 will not resort to simply being an upgrade to older Cyber-shot handsets and will be aiming beyond the brand-loyal consumers. However, the first 5 megapixel Cyber-shot will be forced to handle a lot of pressure. It’s been a year since Nokia N95 was introduced, which indisputably outruns K850 in non-cam features. Other tempting 5 megapixel mobiles as LG KU990, Samsung G600, Samsung F700, and Nokia N95 8GB will soon be crowding the cameraphone market. With an expected price tag of about 430 Euro, some users will think twice before buying a K850 at its very release. If the mentioned rival phones get launched at the same time, the domination of Sony Ericsson K850 will put to a serious test.

I’ve been waiting for the T650 review from Mobile-Review for quite some time now, and it’s finally been published and is in English.
It seems that Eldar isn’t really impressed by the price the phone costs, and says i’s way too expensive, however there will be customers who will buy it just because of the design. Here are some of the last lines of the review;
[...]for example the camera module, but is this what a fashion-savvy solution is all about? Sony Ericsson hasn’t embedded its very best camera either. It turns out that the company’s first attempt to foray into the segment of fashion-conscious phones is, if not a failure, not ever-so successful. This is some helpful experience for Sony Ericsson, so let’s hope the impending devices will be more eye-catching, offering “pure fashion” for their money.

[digg=http://digg.com/gadgets/New_Sony_Ericsson_high_end_phones_mentioned_by_Gracenote/blog] The upcoming announcement later this evening will feature about 5 phones. Those are said to be Sofia, Anastasia, Mooi, Nicole and Shinobu. Shortly before the announcement, Esato news-shark axxxr found a story, which is quite interesting. I quote:
Gracenote said Sony Ericsson will embed the offering on all its music-enabled handsets starting with the new Walkman models W910, W960 and the K850 Cyber-shot.
Interesting, right? Well, I’d bet we’ll all see some unofficial official pictures of the phones. It might be Sofia will end up looking like the photoshop by Deuxani on the left.
