Released back in October 2007 exclusively for the Japanese market, Sony Ericsson W53S is now available with 100 different faces or Panels, created either by Sony Ericsson, Disney or by famous designers from Tokyo and the world. So it pretty much gets the title of the “most customizable” mobile handset created until now

By default, the W53S comes with only one face [well, normally phones do come with one only ;-)] but users can buy any of the other 99 faces (or panels, as many like to call them) and change the appearance of the handset everyday. So it’ll be quite helpful for the moody!

The handset features a 2.7 inch TFT internal display with 240 x 432 pixels and 260,000 colors, a 1 inch OLED external screen, built-in GPS with maps, a 2 Megapixel camera with auto focus, flash and video recording, a “Jog Dial” navigation pad, Web and email capabilities, Media player, access to music and video online stores, two 3D stereo speakers, mobile wallet, 100MB of built-in memory and microSD card support. Coming in a clamshell form factor, the W53S weighs 117 grams and, when closed, it measures 107 x 49 x 20 millimeters.

Another good example of a state of the art handset, exclusively for the Japanese market. Does make us wonder when we’ll be able to lay our hands on such beauties

It looks like the Sony Ericsson Z780 will soon make its appearance on the American market in a completely blue suit, which in my opinion actually looks surprisingly good, although the colour might be a bit too much for me. Guess what - there’s another current phone coming in blue soon
And it’s hot!

Softpedia reports that the W760 will soon hit Europe in a somewhat crazy new MTV-branded suit, full of colours and patterns, which looks a bit disturbing, in my opinion. This variant will be available in a few weeks starting off in Italy, and is set to retail at about 300 euros, which is actually a tad more than the normal one costs.
When it comes to specifications nothing has changed, as you’d figure, and there are even no reports of added MTV content or alike on the phone, apart from the fact that it apparently will make it a tad easier to stream MTV videos to your phone. Let’s hope this will change, shall we?

Sony Ericsson today launched a few extra colour variants of the K660, and a new smashing red colour variant for the W580. The new K660 colours are called Cyan on Black & Silver on Black, while the red W580 colour variant will be called Velvet Red. In my opinion the red colour on the W580 makes it look extremely hot!

We’ve already got several T650 colour variants but an official photo of the IDC-24 fashion accessory shows that a red variant could be coming soon. This is destined to look good! Also, if you haven’t already, you can check out our review of the T650.

Also, W580 has been launched in a new green variant called Jungle Green. I don’t think it looks any great at all, but it might just be me.

The W380 has now also been launched in another colour variant with very little changes. This one is called Tangerine Black and is an exact copy of the Black Champagne variant with the exception of the Walkman logo on the front which is now orange and not golden.

A limited special edition variant of Z310 and Z610 has been created for the Orange network by our very own favourite manufacturer. Both phones will only come in this blue colour variant with a large Tweety picture of the back of it. Furthermore, both phones will come with pre-installed Tweety content.
