Mobile World Congress reminder!

Sunday, January 25th, 2009

Don’t forget to visit USEB on Sunday, February 15, where we’ll be covering Sony Ericsson’s press conference and will be posting everything about all the new phones.

Sony Ericsson’s press conference is held at 18:30 CET (GMT+1), and we’re hoping to be able to post live pictures and updates from the event. We’ll naturally also be posting various videos from other websites that we might find interesting. Sony Ericsson usually hold at least two major announcements a year – one of these is at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, and we’re hoping Sony Ericsson will make a habit of announcing XPERIA products at MWC.

At last year’s Mobile World Congress we had about 16,000 pageviews on that single day, and we’re confident we’ll break that record this year.  We’re ready – are you?

‘Hello Kitty’ invades the F305

Sunday, January 25th, 2009

It appears that Sony Ericsson is once again teaming up with Sanrio, this time to release a special ‘Hello Kitty’ version of the F305. There aren’t any details as to what it’ll include, but the obvious would be special Hello Kitty content, such as ringtones and wallpapers. The F305 doesn’t support themes, so they can’t include any of those. By the looks of it, this won’t be for the Japanese market…

Gallery: Sony Ericsson F305

And here’s the final gallery for today – the Sony Ericsson F305. The F305 is a low-end gaming handset, but it’s quite hard to be impressed. It’s stripped in a lot of areas and it feels rather cheap. Anyway, here are the photos!

It looks incredible in real life and feels amazing. For this shoot, I tried a new set-up, which should shine through in the photos. Enjoy!

Latest rumours from Sony Ericsson in Japan

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

A few pictures of two upcoming Japanese Sony Ericsson phones were posted over at Esato today. While there are yet no names of these phones, we do have a few specifications about them. One of them is a Cyber-shot phone and the other is a Walkman phone.

The Cyber-shot phone is a slider phone with a 3.3-inch high-resolution OLED display at 854 x 480 pixels. The camera resolution is at 8 megapixels, and it features auto focus as well. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to have either a xenon flash nor optical zoom. If it’s anything like the SOc905iCS, it’ll support Smile Shutter, BestPic, record videos at VGA-resolution, and such. It’ll come in three colour variants; Black, Magenta, and Olive & Gold.

The Walkman phone is a so-called Premium Walkman phone, based on the new KCP+ platform, which – according to the post – is still a bit buggy. The phone seems to be a dual-hinged clamshell phone with a “small” display at 3 inches. The resolution remains the same as in the Cyber-shot phone – fWVGA (854 x 480 pixels). There’s an external display with a resolution of 24 x 288 pixels, too. The phone will come with a 2 gigabyte MicroSD memory card, which should hold quite a bit of music. It will feature a built-in FM transmitter and its speaker should be rather powerful. It is reported being between 16.3 – 16.8 millimetres thin. The camera will probably be a 3.2 megapixel one.

Pictures after the break! (more…)
