C510 petite photo comparison

c510-comparison

If you follow the source link you’ll find a pretty nifty little photo comparison between the recently released C510, the Nokia 6600 slide and the Samsung L878. The C510 fares surprisingly well. It arguably outperforms the other two handsets, actually. The close-ups at least look quite better than the other phones’, in my opinion. Who’d figure?

On a side note, you can expect our review of the C510 soon! :D

Word has it that Sony Ericsson will soon be releasing an upgraded version of the C905, which will include 8 gigabytes of internal memory, so that you may store even more of your photos right on the phone.

Is it true? Not sure. We’ll see into that…

C903 review at GSMArena

c903-gsmarena

Another quite positive review from the GSMArena labs. As the case was with their W995 review,  they are revieweinga prototype of the C903, so any faults that might be present will probably be fixed by the time the handset ships to your local store.
I, for one, quite fancy this phone. Don’t know why. Probably because of the lens cover.

Now follow the source link for the actual review.

Sony Ericsson today announced the launch its business in Korea. Sony Ericsson will cooperate with SK Telecom, who will be carrying the XPERIA X1 smartphone. SK Telecom, who will be the distributor of the phone, has decided to customize the X1 with the local Korean customers in mind. This means that there’ll be three new panels – “My smart panel”, “DAUM panel” and “My PC panel” – in addition to the regular panels.

The “My smart panel” is an Internet service for smartphones developer by SK Telefom, and it provides users access to online services, such as e-mail, Messenger and Internet browsing. The “DAUM panel” is a panel by Sony Ericsson that provides users with instant access to services found on the DAUM portal, including e-mail, web search and T-story. The last of the three panels, “My PC panel” will allow users to use media services by connecting the handset to the content and software of a PC through WiBro.

“Our vision for the Xperia X1 is to deliver a seamless blend of mobile web communication and multimedia entertainment in a distinctive stylish design,” said Hirokazu Ishizuka, Corporate Vice President and Head of Asia Pacific Region of Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications.  ”Customised panel interface on the Xperia X1 means that our customers will be able to live their lives to the fullest by enjoying the premium experience of energised communications in their own way.”

“We are very excited to establish Sony Ericsson’s presence in Korea and firmly believe that we have the right product to offer to Korean consumers,” said Hirokazu Ishizuka, Corporate Vice President and Head of the Asia Pacific region.  ”Working closely with our strategic partner, SK Telecom, we will build the Sony Ericsson brand awareness and increase our mindshare within the marketplace.”

“As the strategic partner for Xperia X1, we are honoured to support the launch of Sony Ericsson in Korea, and to mark this milestone in the local telecommunications industry. With its full touch, unique customizable panel interface, we believe Xperia X1 will prove to be popular with sophisticated Korean mobile phone users,” said Joon Dong Bae, Executive Vice President of SK Telecom.

The Korean X1 will enter the market with a 4 GB MicroSD card, preloaded with the Spiderman 3 movie. The first 1,000 customers to buy the X1 will also get their names engraved on their X1, as well as a luxurious leather phone case – all for free.

Sony Ericsson has set up quite a cool website for Korean X1 owners – you can find it at www.xperia.co.kr.

We’re taking a closer look at the W715

nkn_0350-edit

Just got my hands on the brand new W715, and wanted to share a few very quick pictures and thoughts of it with you. Enjoy! :-)

nkn_0352-edit

The W715 looks and feels a lot like the classic W880, yet in a more modern package a la the W995.

nkn_0357-edit

The W715 is a slim and compact phone that feels as light as a feather in your hand.

nkn_0362-edit

Here it is with Sony Ericsson’s upcoming W995. There are quite a bit of similarities, both design and specification wise.

nkn_0364-edit

Contrary to the W995, the keypad on the W715 feels good to use.

The back of the W715 is rubberized, and feels rather good. The 3.2 megapixel camera is located on the top with an LED flash, and there’s an interesting texture design on the back of the slider.

And here it is from another view, where it almost looks blue.

I will do a (video) preview of the W715 soon-ish and a gallery of the phone as well. Perhaps even an unboxing video, if you’re interested in that kind of stuff. Stay tuned for more!

mini-home-system

That’s right, folks. What you’re seeing on the above picture isn’t just another episode of Desperate Housewives. This image is from a new batch of photos our dear pals at Planete-SE have recently posted. Indeed, not only do you get to fiest your eyes upon the scarlet beauty that is the W995 in red, but you also get to see an unnanounced stereo speaker accessory attached below it. The latter should be announced quite soon.

Hit the source link for more pictures.

Sony Ericsson today announced that its Chief Technology Officer Mats Lindoff has decided to leave the company effective 31st of March, apparently to pursue new career opportunities. Effective 1st of April, Ronald ‘Ron’ Louks, who is currently the Head of Technology, Americas, and Deputy CTO at Sony Ericsson, will assume the role of CTO.

“After six inspiring years I have decided to pursue other opportunities outside Sony Ericsson. To be a member of the team who has built up Sony Ericsson has been a great privilege. The course of evolution and change in our industry has been extraordinary, thanks to the very creative, innovative and passionate people I have met at Sony Ericsson. I leave the company with many fond memories and wish the company well in the future,” said Mats Lindoff in a press release.

Mats has been a great part of Sony Ericsson, and he will indeed be missed.

Video: C901 and C903 preview

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009

Here’s our quick video preview at the upcoming Sony Ericsson C901 and C903 Cyber-shot handsets. These are naturally prototypes, and although the software is incredibly stable, it’ll probably change a bit in the final versions. The C901 and C903 will be out in shops in Q2 this year.

By the way… should any of you have any ideas to some background music we can use, then please speak up. I’m running out of new content (well, I already have run out), and it’s rather hard to find music we can legally use.
