The Inxperia website has now posted some of Sony Ericsson’s latest webcast in which we can have a glimpse of some more of the XPERIA X1’s interface. This includes the X1’s design, the famed panel interface and its video playing abilities. The full webcast video will be available on the 17th.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 Webcast
Tuesday, September 16th, 2008Several photos of the cancelled W707
Sunday, September 14th, 2008
Had the Sony Ericsson W707 (codenamed Alicia) not been cancelled, it would have been announced along with the W302, W595 and W902. Unfortunately, though, it was cancelled, probably because it was too similar to the W980.
Anyway, a Polish Sony Ericsson blog has managed to get several photos of the W707, showcasing its looks, the special external displays and the user interface, known from other new Sony Ericsson phones.

Maximys over at SEMC Blog has gotten his hands on a complete list of the additional fifty games that comes with the Sony Ericsson F305. He has posted a PDF file with the titles, screenshots and a short description to each. Check out his post about the games, including the PDF file, right here. If your Internet connection is limited, we’ve gathered the game titles after the jump. (more…)
XPERIA X1 may share panel interface with other WM handsets
Thursday, September 11th, 2008Its just been confirmed that Sony Ericsson is going to launch the XPERIA X1 on the 30th of September and now Sony Ericsson’s Ramanath Bhat has hinted at the possibility of not only opening up the Panel interface for developers, which we’ve already heard about, but releasing the entire UI for other Windows Mobile phones. For those not in the loop, the XPERIA X1 can be personalised through its nine panel user interface to suit the user’s moods and lifestyle. Users can access content quickly and directly through the touch screen, easily switching between applications by touching one of the unique customisable panels.

XPERIA X1 launches on 30th of September!
Wednesday, September 10th, 2008
It’s seemed like forever, but it’s finally ready! Sony Ericsson today announced that the long-awaited XPERIA X1 will launch on the 30th of September, and will hit the stores in week 44! I can’t wait, and I’ve already signed up for a review unit
By the way, the Johnny X stuff we talked about yesterday is going to be a series of nine video clips, or webisodes as Sony Ericsson likes to call them, with a new one being posted every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, starting on the 22nd of September.
Who is Johnny X?
Wednesday, September 10th, 2008
September 15th is the date where Sony Ericsson will be giving an exclusive, in-depth demonstration of the X1. But until then, they’ve got something else for us. An alternative reality trailer of Johnny X. I’m unsure whether it’s a movie or what it is, but it can be found at this website.
By the way, it seems Wolfstar is doing a rather good job at promoting Sony Ericsson’s online communications. Just have a look at the website – it’s possible to digg it, add it to facebook and myspace, and more. Also – Sony Ericsson’s got a YouTube channel and it is more active than ever nowadays.
IDP-100 is a slick digital photo frame
Tuesday, September 9th, 2008
It’s been known for some time that Sony Ericsson was planning on announcing a digital photo frame for displaying your mobile snapshots and masterpieces. Well, today it was announced as the IDP-100, which is a slick digital photo frame with a nice feature set, but it comes at a hefty pricetag.
The IDP-100 features a 7-inch large display at WVGA resolution (800 x 480 pixels). Sony Ericsson says the screen quality is brilliant and the colours are vivid. Marketing gossip? We’ll have to wait to find out.
IDP-100 is probably going to cost around £140, and it’ll be out in Q4 in Dark Grey.
I’m in a bit of a rush, so I’ll once again leave you with a link, this time to the press release, which will provide some technical specifications of the IDP-100.
PlayNow Arena set to deliver unlimited music downloads to Walkman phone owners
Tuesday, September 9th, 2008According to the Financial Times, Sony Ericsson is set to announce an unlimited music download service later this month. The service is expected to be an expansion of the already existing mobile downloads service (PlayNow Arena), and we expect it to be for Walkman phones only, although there’s no saying on this yet. It all sounds very exciting, and indeed very interesting! This could be something that’ll add extra value to Walkman phones, other than ShakeControl, SensMe and ClearAudio.
What do you think?

Sony Ericsson G705 and G705u announced
Tuesday, September 9th, 2008
Sony Ericsson today announced the G705 – as expected – and also a special Orange-branded variant of it, called G705u, which is Sony Ericsson’s first phone to support UMA, which gives you the ability to make calls via the regular cellular networks as well as LAN networks. Pretty neat.
I believe we’ve already mentioned the spefications of G705 quite a few times, so I’ll just mention the most important ones again. 2.4 inch display (QVGA resolution), HSDPA/HSUPA (HSUPA for the American model), WLAN with support for DLNA, GPS with support for aGPS, FM radio with RDS, NetFront browser, A2 platform, 3.2 mega pixel fixed focus camera. A 1 GB memory card comes bundled. It is essentially a C905 with added HSUPA, but without the excellent camera. Sony Ericsson didn’t fail to add a few extra goodies, though. Sony Ericsson also today announced a new partnership with Google, meaning that you’ll be able to download and upload videos from and to YouTube directly from the G705. This feature will not be exclusive to the G705, and it’ll also be added in future models, and hopefully also current models.
The G705 will be available in Silky Gold and Majestic Black variants in early Q4 – that’s soon! The American model supporting the faster HSUPA networks will be available in Q1. The G705u will be available in early Q4 as well in Luminous Black.
Now… where can you find more on this phone? Well, SE-community posted a rather large gallery of this baby, and I can assure you it looks good. Find it over here. Not only did they settle with posting a gallery, though, so you can also find two videos on YouTube showing the phone and its user interface. I’ll probably post some of the official press pictures later on, but I’ll leave you with this for now as I’m loaded with school assignments at the moment.
G705 demo tour video leaked
Saturday, September 6th, 2008This was posted by Cell Phone Sail at cellphonesail.wordpress.com. I think it looks rather nice, although I would have preferred another colour variant.
While we’re at it with the leaks, Maximys posted some information about three codenames of upcoming phones – Athena, Miranda and Yue.
We’ve got some juicy stuff on a new Walkman phone as well for next year, but you’ll have to wait a bit for that
