Here’s our large gallery of the Sony Ericsson G700 – hope you like it :-)

Unboxing the Sony Ericsson G900

Saturday, June 7th, 2008

The Sony Ericsson G900 comes in a slick black box with the compact, black beauty being revealed once opened. There’s not a whole lot of accessories bundled with the G900, basically just the most basic stuff, such as charger, USB cable and headset. A gallery of the G900 is coming right up!

Unboxing the Sony Ericsson G700

Saturday, June 7th, 2008

Here’s a short unboxing of the Sony Ericsson G700 – a tiny smart phone with lots of functionality, including a 3 mega pixel camera and a nice touch screen. Like the G900, it doesn’t come with that many extra accessories, but I’m guessing that’s to cut down the price.

Gallery: Sony Ericsson C702

Saturday, June 7th, 2008

As promised, here’s a large gallery of the Sony Ericsson C702 Cyber-shot phone :-) It is actually splash proof, as you’ll see in the photos!

Unboxing the C702 Cyber-shot phone

Friday, June 6th, 2008

Today I picked up the C702, G700 and G900 – the two G’s will be on tomorrow’s to-do posts list. C702 is a very nice mid-end Cyber-shot phone in a everything but subtle look that turns heads, whether it’s meant in a good way or not. It’s got a beautiful 2.2 inch TFT display, and an extremely snappy GPS even without A-GPS enabled. I’m eager to ‘accidentally’ spill water on it!

So… I thought I’d do a short unboxing post, basically with a few somewhat crappy photos, as it was quite late when I shot them! I’ll probably do a few hundred photos tomorrow of the three phones for some galleries in better lighting conditions. Enjoy :-)

Madonna songs to be bundled on Sony Ericsson phones

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

Sony Ericsson has announced an agreement with Warner Music International, enabling music and mobile content from Madonna’s new album, HARD CANDY, to be bundled on selected Sony Ericsson phones in no less than 27 countries.

These selected phones will come in two packages; one with 5 songs, and one with the full album pre-loaded. Both will feature extra mobile content, such as wallpapers and ringtones.

- The evolution of mobile handsets along with technological convergence continues to open up new ways for us to distribute and market our artists’ music. This partnership with Sony Ericsson further expands HARD CANDY’s global promotional reach and puts exciting content from the album direct into the hands of Madonna fans all over the world. Not only that, packaging music from a global megastar with new Sony Ericsson phones will help drive sales of music-enabled devices and contribute to the uptake of mobile music, said John Reid, Vice Chairman WMI and President, Warner Music Europe.

As of this month, selected Sony Ericsson phones with HARD CANDY pre-loaded will be sold in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay and Venezuela. Another promotional roll-out started in May, affecting Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden.

New firmwares out for K660, W890, W910, Z750 & Z770

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

Sony Ericsson just recently launched a new firmware for the K660, W890, W910, Z750 and Z770. This one is called R1FA030, and is available on Sony Ericsson Update Service.

As of this moment, I’ve only heard feedback from W910 users, but the user feedback so far is quite good, and reports say that the device generally feels faster after the update, especially in the Media menu even with great amounts of files. I’d be surprised if this doesn’t go for the rest of the phones as well. Other than, Sony Ericsson apparently did some fixing on the rather buggy video playing, and the phones should now be a lot better at playing videos. An option to update the media library has also been added to the Media menu.

Let’s hope the rest of the A2 phones will get their firmwares updated soon as well!

Announcing USEB 2.0 (almost)

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

A few days ago, I asked what you’d like to see in the new theme, so I could do some possible last minute changes / additions. Today, I feel there’s nothing more for me to do on the theme, and I’ve fixed all my previous irritations as well as the stuff based on your feedback. So… I’m announcing it, with a SOON planned change of header!
USEB 2.0 – or v1.99b, as you’ll notice in the footer – introduces lots of stuff:

  • Fixed width, optimized for large photos
  • Clean, orange/grey design with easy navigation
  • Improved visual and functional experience
  • Neat and stylish comments design, extra cool if someone enters his/her URL
  • Comments and trackbacks separated (already added in previous theme, but never announced)
  • Improved Search feature
  • Improved Reviews page, and reviews look
  • Special ‘Error 404′-page

We urge upon you all to register an account at USEB, as this will make it easier for you to take part of the USEB community in comments, and alike.

Without further ado, welcome to USEB 2.0 – please keep the feedback and possibly bug-reporting coming! Have a look around, will ya’? :-)

Can you say MTW760?

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

Softpedia reports that the W760 will soon hit Europe in a somewhat crazy new MTV-branded suit, full of colours and patterns, which looks a bit disturbing, in my opinion. This variant will be available in a few weeks starting off in Italy, and is set to retail at about 300 euros, which is actually a tad more than the normal one costs.

When it comes to specifications nothing has changed, as you’d figure, and there are even no reports of added MTV content or alike on the phone, apart from the fact that it apparently will make it a tad easier to stream MTV videos to your phone. Let’s hope this will change, shall we?

Unknown low-end phone leaked (updated)

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

This picture of an unknown low-end Sony Ericsson phone, which is probably going to be announced on the 17th this month, has just been leaked at SE4M.com. There are no rumoured specifications on this model yet, so we can only guess. My guess is that it’s a T-series phone, possibly some sort of successor to the T250/T270/T280, or somewhere close to them.

Update! Apparently this is a J-series phone without a camera… Ah, well, appears this wasn’t the case after all.

Update 2! Here’s a picture of this unknown phone’s backside
