GSMArena previews the C905

Posted by Michell | June 18th, 2008

The guys at GSMArena have already had their hands on the new Sony Ericsson C905, and have today published a rather large preview of this camera king. In the review, you’ll find tons of beautiful photos as well as loads of well-written paragraphs about the phone. It’s most definitely worth a look.

Check it out yourself over here :-)

    :D
The C905 has also two ’shortcut’ keys above the screen.
I missed those on the K850 and the C902 dont have them if i’m right.
This is the perfect step-up from my K800i (H)

    And with the VOIP calling..
Can i call for free with that, IF connected to a WIFI network?
    Or? Can someone explain that.

    And another question, the GPS;
Do I need an Internet Connection for that?
Or can i download maps with the PC and put them on the M2?

    D J Hilton,
Both have been cancelled, along with a few other phones.

    Wouter,
VoIP calling only works when connected to a WiFi network :) You can do both with the GPS - either download them via MyWayFinder.com or do it “on the go”.

  7. Wouter says:

    Michell,
Is there also something like Google Earth/Maps, that i can download.
Thus i don’t need internet anymore?

If i’m right the Wayfinder needs an payed service to work?
And Mobile internet (for use with) Google Maps on the go is also €9,95 /month

Isn’t there any free map software that uses the GPS?
Since Wayfinder Pre-loaded Europe cost €150.-
And Benelux only (Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg) cost €110,-.

    Brilliant. Just brilliant.

I love the shutter mechanism. And the auto-re-routing of all data through WiFi when it’s on is welcome–my N95 doesn’t do that. ;-)

oh well. gsmarena does make one mistake, they listed the video resolution as QVGA @ 30fps instead of VGA. Just to confirm, which is correct? QVGA or VGA?

    3:37 am on 6/19/08
  10. VideoLetDown says:

QVGA is true, the VIDEO IS A BIG LETDOWN. Now I’m sure, this will not be my next phone =(

  12. Waco says:

Michell, can you confirm VGA or QVGA video recording?

    1:37 pm on 6/19/08
  13. Michell says:

    It’s QVGA. They changed it.

    1:45 pm on 6/19/08
  14. Waco says:

Oh, bad luck, VGA is standart nowadays, QVGA is just too low… At least the photos are excellent.

    2:41 pm on 6/19/08
  15. C905 says:

no man u got it mistaken it vga not qvga they changed it.

    2:59 pm on 6/19/08
  16. Michell says:

Nope, it’s QVGA video. The early prototypes, however, featured VGA video recording. Not that it bothers me, though.

    3:00 pm on 6/19/08
  17. its VGA says:

    it was qvga.
but they were planning to upgrade it to VGA.

  18. Waco says:

You’re all saying something different, but Michell is worth trusting more than everyone else :), so I’ll believe him. But why do you say that it doesn’t matter to you, SE should finally upgrade the videos of their phones to keep up with market. I think it’s quite important.

  19. C905 says:

ok so can u tell me which 1 is best qvga or vga?

    8:08 pm on 6/19/08
  20. Waco says:

QVGA is 320×240 and VGA is 640×480 in general. But basically VGA is always better than QVGA.

  21. C905 says:

    A really nice phone…. *L*
But if it really had want to knock out Nokia N82 (The best camerapfone on the market today)…. It had been nice if it have been VGA Video, VGA Display and on the top of that optical zoom…. ;-)))
I should not be suppriced if the upcomming Nokia phone after N82 is even better…. Optical zoom maybe ;-)))

  28. Waco says:

ota, X1 hasn’t got 16m colors because of the WM, it doesn’t support more than 65k for now. Anyway, I don’t want SE phones with 16m colors, it drains battery heavily and the difference is unnoticable. Basically it’s useless.
