C702 Is Now Shipping

In closed a press release, Sony Ericsson now announces that it’ll be starting shipping of the C702 Cyber-shot phone tomorrow. We expect the C902, G700 and G900 will follow the C702 on its way across Europe.
Just to sum it up, the C702 offers a 3.2 mega pixel camera with auto focus, a built-in GPS with Google Maps and WayFinder as well as a crisp TFT display at QVGA resolution. C702 is also Sony Ericsson’s first dust and splash resistant phone, making it ideal to photograph in even the most troubling surroundings.
I’m not sure if we’ll post an in-depth going review of the C702, but I do think we’ll at least test out the statement of it being dust and splash resistant.

Please post an in-depth review! I see the c702 as the long-awaited rightful successor of the t610. Where will it be available in the states upon its arrival?

Is that because other than camera, GPS and dust/splash resistance, the phone is pretty much the same as the other phones you have reviewed recently?
2:43 am on 5/26/08It’s because I’ve got the C902, G900 and W760 coming at the same time.
6:46 am on 5/26/08It’s because some ppl are afraid that stronger phones are ‘less classy’ and feature packed then what they are used toso they are treated like a black sheep.
9:52 pm on 5/29/08But being splash and dust resistant outrules a lot of dumb and useless features.
Who hasn’t walked in the rain with a cell in his pocket, and came home with a dead machine?
Phones like these rock, I never purchase any other kinds anymore.
