Windows Mobile 6.1 In X1 Is Now Official

Well, I already told you about what was going to happen at CTIA yesterday regarding the XPERIA X1 and the “mysterious” Windows Mobile 6 operating system, that Sony Ericsson continously denied talking about, and got referred to as “Windows Mobile 6… err.. 6″. Now it has finally been officially announced that it will indeed be making use of the Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system.
I guess we can expect the reviews to start rolling in quite slowly now… Release is still set to 2nd half 2008.

Did you notice that the Windows logo which was removed from the X1 press shots has been put back on? It really makes me wonder about what their intentions were when they removed it!

Just reading and reading about the X1, which will be my next device after the Ipaq 6945. Is there any way to get a more precise release date und price? Will it fully support VoIP and Skype? Is there a definitve answer which CPU will be used, what is the limit for the SD Card? Just let me know, can’t wait.
