Sunday, March 16th, 2008

t650_new_red_colour.jpg

We’ve already got several T650 colour variants but an official photo of the IDC-24 fashion accessory shows that a red variant could be coming soon. This is destined to look good! Also, if you haven’t already, you can check out our review of the T650.

Also, W580 has been launched in a new green variant called Jungle Green. I don’t think it looks any great at all, but it might just be me.

The W380 has now also been launched in another colour variant with very little changes. This one is called Tangerine Black and is an exact copy of the Black Champagne variant with the exception of the Walkman logo on the front which is now orange and not golden.

Large W890 Review By PhoneArena

 phonearena_w890_review.jpg

The guys over at PhoneArena.com has posted a brilliant review of the new W890 and are really liking the phone. It’s a very positive review and the phone ends up getting a 9/10 score, which is really good! There are lots of photos and well written text, so it’s well worth a read for people who are tempted by this beauty. One thing I don’t agree of though is that the silver version looks ‘common’ and is less actrative than the brown version – what were they thinking?!

We’ll Be Back Soon!

Friday, March 14th, 2008

Some might have noticed the lack of posts in the last few days. This is because my main computer isn’t feeling too well (the display doesn’t work), however I’m getting a new one today or tomorrow and will hurry up on posting when I’ve set it up.

We’ve got lots of stuff for you – one of them being that I received a silver W890 yesterday. How about a small preview? :-)

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

Sony Ericsson has just appointed the integrated marketing agency iris to manage its global activation strategy. This means sports campaigns marketing, retail and sales promotion. I’m in a bit of a rush, so I’ll just leave you with the press release :-)

Sony Ericsson has announced today that it has appointed integrated marketing agency iris to handle its global activation strategy, following a competitive pitch. As its global activation agency, iris will be responsible for implementing integrated campaigns across all of Sony Ericsson’s sports marketing properties, retail business and sales promotion work.

The appointment is part of Sony Ericsson’s move to increase integration across all of its marketing activity as well as drive efficiency and greater consumer engagement. With this is mind, iris will also provide strategic and creative leadership for Sony Ericsson’s $88m global title sponsorship of the Sony Ericsson Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Tour.

iris, an independent global network, has in recent months launched a Latin America operation to service the Sony Ericsson brand, with further expansion planned in key markets across the globe.

Dee Dutta, Corporate Vice President and Head of marketing for Sony Ericsson, said, “We’ve been working with iris for a number of years and on an increasingly global basis over the past twelve months. They have the necessary skills, talent and ambition to deliver truly integrated campaigns to help Sony Ericsson achieve our objective of becoming one of the top three players in our industry.”

Ian Millner, CEO and founder of iris said, “This is a brilliant sign of the health in our partnership, and the ability of our two businesses to challenge one another and to always be pushing hard to stay sharp. It is also symbolic of our progress as a global network”.

PS. The photo in this post is part of a Walkman campaign by iris – pretty cool stuff!

Gallery: The Unannounced M610

Sunday, March 9th, 2008

Here are a few exclusives shots of the unannounced / cancelled M610 smart phone by Sony Ericsson. It is still unknown why Sony Ericsson cancelled this model, but probably because it was too close to M600 and P1.

Sony Ericsson’s Gift To The Women

Sunday, March 9th, 2008

Lots of photos of some new unannounced Sony Ericsson accessories appeared at SE4M.com today. These are clearly going to be marketed for females, but I must say that they do look good! It looks like these photos were shot at CeBIT, but obviously the products haven’t been announced.

You can check out the tons of photos of Sony Ericsson’s new additions to its Design Collection over at SE4M.com.

[Thanks, Xajel!]

Update! Silly, silly me. I thought these looked somewhat familiar to the already announced design collection products, but I didn’t have the time to check it out. However, it appears that they are indeed the already announced accessories. My apologies :-)

Sunday, March 9th, 2008

This year’s CeBIT trade fair has just closed down after a week of visitors and interesting products. Sony Ericsson was of course present and a couple of the German blog writers had a look at Sony Ericsson’s booth and new products. We’ve collected a large gallery for you, hope you enjoy :-)

I’ve just finished my review of the Sony Ericsson P1 smart phone. I am very impressed by the phone and its business capabilities.

Lots of RAM memory for multitasking, a powerful battery and an excellent price makes this a very good phone.

PSP Gaming Device Patent Filed By Sony Ericsson

Saturday, March 8th, 2008

se_pat.jpg

Sony Ericsson has just recently filed a patent on a haptic touch screen gaming device. The patent goes by the name “Orientation based multiple mode mechanically vibrated touchscreen display”, and among a set of nice designs, it shows a very PSP-like concept. But, not only does it look like a PSP device, the patent also states that the PSP mode is “set out to mimic the look and feel of the popular Sony.TM. Playstation Portable (PSP.TM.) gaming device”, as well as about 5 other mentionings of the PSP brand. Interesting!! (more…)
