Dee Dutta Leaves Sony Ericsson At End Of March

Dee Dutta is the current Head of Marketing at Sony Ericsson and has been in this position since 2003. He has done a brilliant job with Sony Ericsson’s marketing and is also a great part of Sony Ericsson’s tennis sponsorship. He’s a really nice guy, so I’m of course a bit sad to say that he’s now leaving his position at Sony Ericsson in just a matter of days.

- Dee has made an outstanding contribution to the growth of the Sony Ericsson brand and our sponsorship in tennis. We would like to wish him the very best for the future, comments Dick Komiyama, CEO at Sony Ericsson, on Dee’s departure with Sony Ericsson.

Although Dee is leaving, it seems he has been very satisfied working at Sony Ericsson for the last 5-6 years.

This has been a wonderful journey of both personal and professional growth for me. I am very proud of the achievements that my team and I have made in growing the brand and look forward to the next challenge in my career, said Dee Dutta.

Sony Ericsson will announce Dee’s replacement in due course.

Along with the W380, I also received a K660 HSDPA-enabled phone targeted at the youth. Here goes a gallery of this phone as well. I am not yet sure when you’ll see a review of it, but I’ll try to do it within a reasonable time frame! So far I’m not really that impressed… :(

Sony Ericsson W890 Review

Posted by Michell | March 24th, 2008

Sony Ericsson W890 is the multi-talented successor of the revolutionary W880 that was announced in a little over a year ago. W890 follows up by increasing the depth of the phone with a meaningless 0.5 millimetres while adding a whole lot of features and a design that is to die for.

You can read our full review of this beauty right here.

PS. This is NOT for 56k users!

Let’s Go Behind The Scenes Of ‘Emelie’

Posted by Michell | March 22nd, 2008

‘Emelie’ is the codename of an upcoming low/mid-end feature phone by Sony Ericsson. It is based on the A200 operating system and is one of the first phones in this price range to be based on this system (more will come, though!). The display is of QVGA resolution (240 x 320 pixels) and is capable of displaying up to 262.144 colours.

Its metal body looks stylish and inside the casing there are 18 silver keys with a curvy sparkling design. The call and end call keys are black and separate the silver trimming. The D-pad looks quite funny and I don’t think Sony Ericsson has used a design like this before. The navigation keys (up, down, left & right) are separated into four different keys and the action key in the middle has a joystick look to it with orange lights around it. There is an activity menu key on the front, but no other short cut keys here.

We can’t reveal many of the specifications yet, but we can tell you that this will feature a 2 mega pixel camera without auto focus. Its weight seems to be ~100 grams, and we expect the price to end up around 150 - 200 euro.

More on this baby later :-) If you haven’t seen one of our teaser pictures of Emelie yet, you can check them out here.

SensMe Review Posted

Posted by Michell | March 20th, 2008

Our very own Mik, super moderator at SE-NSE forums, has written a nice review of the SensMe feature in the Walkman 3.0 music player. While I found this feature of no need, Mik seems to like it quite a lot.

You can find the review here.
