Info on two upcoming low-end T-series phones

Sunday, January 20th, 2008

Sony Ericsson is planning to do a product announcement in India at the 24th this month. Here they will announce two low-end phones with radio features. We’ve now got the exclusives on these phones. They will be named T270 and T280, and will as said both be featuring a built-in radio. Furthermore they’ll both have Bluetooth support, a 128 x 160 pixels display and a thickness of 14 millimetres. The T280 will feature a simple camera, while T270 won’t feature any. Design is very much like T250 with the exception of the colour scheme. The top part of the phone will differ from the bottom part, that remains in a metallic colour on the T270, while the T280 will have a black bottom part and a rather dark metallic upper part. The T270’s upper part will be brown.

Sony Ericsson to release ‘Quicksilver Black’ variant K850

Saturday, January 19th, 2008

This just got in. Sony Ericsson is to release a ‘Quicksilver Black’ colour variant K850 camera phone. Nothing else than the colouring should be changed. So far, I haven’t been able to fetch any pictures of this variant, but it could be the one, we’ve seen earlier on. I haven’t got any word on availability yet.

Furthermore, I can tell you, that Sony Ericsson’s upcoming firmware for the K850, will not be the R1DA038 revision, but instead a completely new and better one :-) Let’s hope I have fixed my K850 by then, as it should not take more than a week’s time!

Update! The first press picture of this colour variant has now hit the forums – count on more live pictures coming from us tomorrow ;-)

Support the blog

Friday, January 18th, 2008

… and help making it the biggest Sony Ericsson blog out there! Compare us with the other blogs and you’ll see that this one is the fastest growing Sony Ericsson blog and that it is in league with the best blogs when comparing page views. We cover about 98 % of all Sony Ericsson related news, stories, rumours and alike, and usually there is one or more posts a day – this does also have something to do with there being any real news and such.

If you have a look at the right sidebar, you’ll notice that the amount of RSS readers is growing, and this is something I can see in the statistics as well, where the RSS views are twice the amount of on-site views. Quite impressive! Also, you’ll notice that I’ve added a part on the right sidebar that shows an estimate of what this blog is worth. Right now it is about 26.500 dollars, and only a few days ago it was at 23.000 dollars – this is going fast! Our Technorati rank is going steadily ahead and we would of course love to have more fans here.

Another thing with this blog is the great link section. We have a very large variety of links to Sony Ericsson websites only, so every one will be able to find just what they need to know about Sony Ericsson. If you think we’re missing a link, please let us know.

Lastly, this is not a post to ask for donations. This blog will remain free of donation queries and all the work performed by the crew is of course done willingly for all of you guys’ fault. We love all your nice comments and we really do hope you have enjoyed what you’ve seen of this blog so far. If you think you can help in any way or if you’re a talented Sony Ericsson user / fan, and would like to start blogging here, also, please let us know.

If you have any suggestions whatsoever, please do not hesitate on contacting us!

Sony Ericsson at MIDEM 2008

Friday, January 18th, 2008

MIDEM is a music market exhibition, and Sony Ericsson will take part of this on the 24th to the 27th of January. Although I already knew this, the invitations to the event has been sent to different web sites now, and here it is.

This will mainly be used for announcing details on the upcoming PlayNow Arena platform, but I’d beat that a few Walkman phones featuring this new platform will be announced.

Sony Ericsson in partnership with McCann Erickson

Friday, January 18th, 2008

Two days ago, Sony Ericsson announced that it would be extending its marketing department with a partnership with McCann Erickson. This will include worldwide campaigns, advertisements and will be a way to improve consumer relationships.

- We have very ambitious goals for the Sony Ericsson brand, said Dee Dutta, who is the Corporate Vice President and Head of Marketing at Sony Ericsson in London.

- Moving forward, we are looking at increased integration across all of our marketing disciplines including online, print, TV and retail as well as greater consumer engagement. McCann Erickson has a deep understanding of how this works and can help us to grow the brand globally even further, he added.McCann Erickson has been working together with Sony Ericsson some years back, but then Saatchi and Saatchi took over with global campaigns and such, but now they will all be working for Sony Ericsson.

- Saatchi and Saatchi have done a good job for us so far, especially at a regional level, and they will continue to be a partner of Sony Ericsson, Dutta ends.
