We’ve brought you tons of pictures of the QuickSilver Black K850 variant, and just recently, Sony Ericsson finally made it official. Nothing has changed specification wise - just a new colour.
You can see the new colour variant at the K850 web page. By the way, did anybody notice that the displayed picture is slightly larger than the other ones?
Sony Ericsson recently set up a new campaign website for India. This one is focusing on camera phones and what appears to be Bollywood stars Hrithik Roshan and Yana Gupta.
The object of this campaign is simple - buy any Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot phone and register it at the campaign website, then you’re in the contest! Once the competition stops at March 15, a total of 125 winners will be chosen, and given the chance to shoot the stars in an exclusive fashion show. You’ll find the campaign website right here!
On a curious matter, when did the K530 get the Cyber-shot branding?
By request, I’ve snapped a few comparing photos of the Sony Ericsson P1 & W960. Both phones are built on a 99 % equal hardware basis and the software is just about equal as well. Overall, I have to say that the P1 feels extremely well built and puts the W960 to shame, even though W960 is not bad at all!
Enjoy the photos
Stay tuned for my review of the P1 (and I’m sorry about the lousy photo quality).
Sony Ericsson will open a call centre in Bulgaria in the beginning of February.
This call centre will manage phone calls, and help users in doubt or those who need help with something. Furthermore, the call centre will deal with corporative clients in matters of everything from detailed documents to prices, guarantee, features, problem solving, etc. on Sony Ericsson mobile phones.
The number to dial is 0800 18 778, and the lines will be open Monday to Friday between 9 to 17.
Here’s a cool video of the upcoming MAS-100 portable speaker set. I think this will be released around the same time as the W760, which is also featured in this video. Enjoy
The media managing tool supplied with all new Sony Ericsson phones, Sony Ericsson Media Manager, has been updated to version 1.1, and this includes many new features and enhancements. Earlier on, the application was quite slow when converting songs and transferring files to the phone - it even displayed the wrong memory amount on my K850! It wasn’t that stable either. Now all of this has been fixed, and it works quite fast.
One of the best added features, however, must be the support for converting videos. In the release version, you’d have to upgrade to “Pro” to get this ability, but now it’s free.
Since Sony Ericsson focused last year on low/mid-range phones the emphasis this year will be placed on high-end walkman and cybershot models. Among a flood of really nice fashion phones powered by UIQ there’ll be of course some nice feature phones running the A200 platform.
Here are some release dates of yet unannounced phones:
• Angelina Q2
• Tyra Q3 (UIQ-Low-end)
• Emilie Q3
• Josephine Q3 (UIQ-Mid-range)
Besides this Sony Ericsson plans to expand their accessories as well. A walkman phone called Madonna in one package with a hifi-system (of course also from SE) will be out during this year. This will be also a fashion phone (maybe P5i sister) stated to be very expensive but nice to look at. You probably all know ‘pebble’ (MBS-100) - as it seems to come out in a bigger and more powerful version with incredible sound.
Apart from that some more codenames of yet unannounced phones:
