We’re on the road again…

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

Ah, finally! Now there are only two days left till I get my Christmas holiday – I can’t wait! In the mean time, lately I have not been so awfully busy with posting stuff here. However, I have been doing stuff “behind the scenes” of this blog (starting with this post) to optimize it and make more readers come to join the party here at USEB.

Later today I will post the news regarding Sony Ericsson I have yet to post. Oh well, dinner’s ready. Hope you’re all well!

Help Sony Ericsson to be a better manufacturer

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

I just found out that Sony Ericsson has published a survey, where they ask of your help. They would like you to answer a series of questions (don’t worry, it won’t take more than a few minutes) and give some grades in certain matters. Especially the last question is interesting – what kind of mobile user you are. My answer was of course “I want it all, and I want it NOW” ;-)

You’ll find the survey here – please take the survey, so we can get some better products :-)

W960 has no slow downloads

Saturday, December 15th, 2007

As an update to my earlier post about slow UIQ 3 downloads I’d like to say that after having downloaded several things with my W960 via WLAN, I can finally say that there are no problems with slow downloads on W960! I am now getting full download speeds at about 200 KB/s!

Z660i spotted

Saturday, December 15th, 2007

Z660i is a 14 millimetre thin clamshell phone with 3G. It looks like it’s going to be a nice phone – lets see if we can dig up some better pictures, shall we? ;-) The codename of this phone is Becky. It will have a 2 mega pixel camera without auto focus and it will be running the A200 software platform.

Sony Ericsson is revising its product strategies

Saturday, December 15th, 2007

According to an article at Digitimes, Sony Ericsson is revising its product orienting and channel strategy. This is because their plans of pushing low-end phones (less than 100 Euro) to the market didn’t come out as expected. The sales were below the expected and I’m thinking this is why Sony Ericsson’s market share fell a bit in Q3.

I guess this means good times for all us high-end users!

Who wants an official Sony Ericsson forum?

Saturday, December 15th, 2007

I have just written a long email to Sony Ericsson’s vice president Anders Runevad explaining why there’s a need forum an official Sony Ericsson forum. I also wrote that I could prove there is indeed need for such a forum and one way could be a signature petition.

So, all those who would like an official Sony Ericsson forum, please put your signature in this thread at Esato so I can pass it on to Anders Runevad, if he wants to see proof. It looks like if we want something, we’ll have to work our butts off getting it.

Please do support me on this one and put your signature here!

Sony Ericsson celebrates Christmas in Taiwan

Saturday, December 15th, 2007

If you’re lucky enough to live in Taiwan and you happen to buy a Sony Ericsson product from now and till Christmas, Sony Ericsson will give you a special Christmas gift! The giftis a small Christmas tree with text on it – oh, how I wish I could get one of those for my collection!

Sony Ericsson is on most people’s Christmas list

Saturday, December 15th, 2007

A Swedish study by the operator Telia has shown that Sony Ericsson phones are likely to be the ones most people wish for Christmas. 8.000 people were asked and about a third was hoping for a mobile phone this year. Furthermore, 61% of this third wanted a Sony Ericsson phone.

This of course is not a study that should be taken too seriously. Sony Ericsson has a large market share in Sweden and the Swedes tend to like Sony Ericsson more than other brands.

Update on upcoming reviews

Thursday, December 13th, 2007

Just wanted to let you guys know that I’ll be reviewing the W960 before the T650. I know I’ve said otherwise earlier on, but I feel there’s a much bigger need for a W960 review than for a T650 review. I hope this is OK. Expect a full size W960 review in some days!
