Is this P5?

Monday, December 31st, 2007

It appears that the same person, who posted this picture, has just posted what could be another upcoming Sony Ericsson phone. And from the looks of this one, it could be P5 or the W960 successor. Still, nothing is for sure, but once again – better post about it, than not.

Happy New Year everybody!

Monday, December 31st, 2007

As the author of this place, I’d like to wish every single soul out there a Happy New Year and best of luck in 2008! I’m 2008 will offer lots of treats for all us mobile fanatics and we will without a doubt see some revolutionary mobile phones coming from most manufacturers – including Sony Ericsson ;-) This blog will definitely also grow a lot in 2008 and I’ll add more and more to it. More reviews, more posts, more exclusives and so on. I’ll kick-start the new year off with a T650 review (around the weekend, perhaps?) and after that an in-depth going camera review of the K850 should appear on the blog :-)
So, here it goes again – HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY! :-) Please don’t hurt yourself on all the fireworks ;-)
PS. I know this post is a little too early, but then most people will have time to read it before it’s 2008 :-)

What’s this?

Saturday, December 29th, 2007

This just came in… It looks like some Chinese copy and a picture made in Photoshop, but in case this will actually turn out to be something (K series?), I decided to put it on the blog. Decide for yourself. Press the picture for a larger view.

se_snowglobe.jpg

Sony Ericsson has launched a cool site for loyal customers (so the site says!) where we can send our holiday wishes to all our friends and family in the shape of a cool 3D animated snowglobe. This snowglobe can be created by yourself or if you don’t feel creative, you can simply send one of the already created ones!

Check out the site here!

Sony Ericsson fan stuff

Saturday, December 29th, 2007

Here’s a picture of some of the Sony Ericsson fan stuff I’ve got. It’s not much, but it’s pretty unique and stuff that you can’t buy in shops and such. I’ve also got some large stickers Sony Ericsson once sent me. The small bag can’t be purchased anywhere and I’ve failed to find out anything about it. This was also something Sony Ericsson once sent me :-) The fan and the black bag was something I won at Esato’s Playtime! games.

If you’ve got anything special and feel like you’re in a good mood, then you shall be more than welcome to send it to me

GSMArena has reviewed W890

Saturday, December 29th, 2007

w890_gsmarena.jpg

The team at GSMArena.com has reviewed the Sony Ericsson W890 – an interesting music phone with 2 gigabytes of flash memory and a 3.2 mega pixel fixed focus camera. This is the successor of W880. The review is really nice with lots of pictures and the impressions of the phone are quite good, too! The conclusion is as follows

The Sony Ericsson Walkman lineup is diverse enough to cater to all tastes in terms of design and functionality. With the W890 we have a nice update in the slim bar form factor.

We liked the compact and amiable W880, and we believe the W890 is a welcome successor. It does address some of the major letdowns in the older W880: the tiny keys and the lack of FM radio. The user interface of the hi-end W910 and the added HSDPA and quad-band GSM support are a commendable effort to set the Sony Ericsson W890 above its predecessor.

We expected a bit more from the camera, the size of the display and the loudspeaker performance. The missing Shake Control and auto-rotate capability may also raise a brow or two.

Sony Ericsson W890 is an undoubted improvement over the W880 but we can’t help being wary. We frowned at the overpriced tag of W910, never mind its high-end status. Let’s hope the asking price won’t kill the appeal of Sony Ericsson W890. The neat and compact handset is a worthy offering for its solid feel, nice handling and good feature set.

Check out the review here :-)

I have already asked Sony Ericsson what their status is on the W890 and when I can get a review sample. Am awaiting a reply :-) By the way, isn’t the white W890 breathtaking????

Customize the K850 and W910’s media player

Friday, December 28th, 2007

From the second K850 and W910 were announced, I knew that there would be a way to customize the media player look of these. Even bigger did my gut feeling get when I got both phones and realized that the look changed accordingly to the themes. But even though I had found out that it had something to do with the themes, I didn’t investigate more into that. Now it seems that some people at Esato have found a way, and there is a discussion thread about it here. So if you want to change the look of the media player on your K850 or W910, take a look at the discussion going on.

By the way, I am pretty sure that this also goes for other A200 phones (K630, K660, v640, Z750, etc.)

Exclusive: First live Z660 picture

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

Here’s the first live Z660 picture. I’m sorry, but I can’t post any better pictures, so here goes a blurry one. The red thing in the bottom is the speaker :-) The display shows informations such as signal strength, messages, time (not date), battery and 3G connection. It has a 2 mega pixel camera (fixed focus), HSDPA and it’s running A200. Enjoy :-)

Fring now supports W960

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

Fring is a VoIP application that also supports all kinds of Instant Messaging services like Google Talk, Yahoo Messenger and of course MSN Messenger. And best of all, it’s free :-) Up until now W960 hasn’t been supported, but as a Christmas present for all of us with a W960, it now works.

Go, get the application here! :-)
