Sony Ericsson S500 coming tomorrow

Posted by Michell Bak at 4:30 pm in New phone, S series

The new Sony Ericsson S500 should be coming my way tomorrow. Well, it’s actually my mom’s way, as I ordered it for her (and paid for it, too!). I wanted to give her a cool fashion mobile with the most common features and some new cool ones. Right now she’s using an old Nokia 6020, which sucks! That was the main reason for giving her a new phone - it’s too embarrassing for her to have such an old phone ;)
Anyhow, it should come tomorrow, but there’s been some trouble with the place it was ordered, but after having talked on the phone with them three times and emailed, it should be there now. So, I’m counting on a delivery tomorrow morning!

I’ll also do a review of the phone and try to do some unpacking pictures - if not, then you’d bet I can get a nice photo gallery :) So stay tuned :) Oh, and it’s the yellow edition. I really wanted to get her the black one, but apparently it isn’t being sold here at the moment, and she likes the yellow one.

Sony Ericsson K810 in a special color

Carphonewarehouse reports that the Sony Ericsson K810 will soon in a special color. The site says it’s due to September 2007, so it’s just about time now.

The K810 will come in a red color, which I think will be very sexy looking in real life. The product photo is also quite nice, but as with most of Sony Ericsson’s phones, they look even better in real life!

Update: It’s now official and is named ‘Pulse Red’ :)

Sony Ericsson P1 comes with a GPS!!

Posted by Michell Bak at 4:56 pm in Accessories, GPS, News, P series, Symbian, UIQ

The new Sony Ericsson P1 comes bundled with a Bluetooth GPS from Wayfinder and the software (Wayfinder Navigator 7) is pre installed when buying the phone. Included is a 1-year subscription to the service. All you have to do is activate the service, and you should be ready to go!

Earlier today Wayfinder said, that they’d received to gigantic orders for GPS units and navigation software. Reportedly, it was an order from a “big mobile manufacturer” - Sony Ericsson, as we’ve just found out.

This makes the P1 be more like the N95, and I’m seriously considering getting the P1, too, along with my N95 and P990. Should be a nice little family, don’t you think? Well, I should be getting a test unit soon, so will see if it’s something for me ;) By the way, this is for selected markets only.

Great hybrid concept

Posted by Michell Bak at 6:20 pm in Concept

The user ‘Xajel’ at Esato has posted a really great concept, which looks sooooo fantastic! It’s a high quality concept, and the features are amazing. Check out what Xajel wrote about his concept and then the two different versions.

very basic, rather than mobile phone in front and camera in the back…
Walkman in the front and Cyber-Shot in the back…

I just started new series called H, this one is called H1i, H stands for Hybrid ( Walkman + Cyber-Shot )
this thing is above high-end range, not Ultra high-end but just some thing in the middle

the whole front side is touch sensitve, not bottons here, these are just painted letters with backlight ability in the dark, the display is 3” fully blended in the front design, with Widescreen resolution of 480×270… a 7.2MP camera with another Hybrid wich is the flash ( both Xenon and LEd in the same package to save space ), specifications are still in draft, just wait for the final one …

I hope you like it, it’s my first one guys !!

two colors, Metallic Black, and Pearly White

I can’t wait to see the ‘final version’, if this is only a draft. Beautiful work, Xajel, and now the pictures… First up is the Metallic Black and second is the Pearly White, which is my favorite one. Click the pictures to enlarge.

Sony Ericsson W660 P!nk edition?!

So, where’s the difference between this phone and the original? Well, it has the “p!nk”-mark on it, and is thereby a P!nk-edition. You could guess that the phone also comes with some stuff from the singer - like songs or videos. Maybe even a theme and pictures? It could also come with the special P!nk-edition Memory Stick Micro M2 card Sony announced some time back. It’s still not announced, as far as I know, so I guess it’s just a rumor, but a bit interesting as it will be the first phone from Sony Ericsson to have swapped the Sony Ericsson-logo and text on the back with the new “I SE (something)” campaign.

Sony Ericsson - A global company

Posted by Michell Bak at 12:51 pm in Corporative, Market

oversigt-over-se.jpg

Just as I was going through my huge archive of Sony Ericsson stuff on my computer, I found this picture, which pretty much is an overview of Sony Ericsson as “a global company”. It shows where “things happen” - manufacturing, development, corporate functions and lastly sales & marketing. It’s from around the 20th of April, so it’s not brand new & probably not completely up to date. Anyhow, it’s pretty interesting to look at. Don’t forget to press the image to enlarge it. Enjoy :)

Fring for P990

Posted by Michell Bak at 2:19 pm in Application, News, Symbian, UIQ

In addition to the earlier post about VoIP for UIQ 3, I would like to notify that fring is now available for UIQ 3 - just like ares (without naming the application) told you guys it would be. The fring application is now available for P990, and according to an e-mail fring sent us, more devices will follow. Among these will undoubtedly be P1 and and the recently announced W960. At this point in time fring is not working on M600 and W950 due to limitations.

Fring will allow P990 users to make free calls using VoIP, chat at Skype, MSN and GoogleTalk using integrated contact list. More about fring in the links supplied above.
