The last photo of the upcoming BeiBei from SEMCBlog was posted just yesterday, and it looks exactly as I had been told with beautiful markings on the backside. What do you think?

Video: Sony Ericsson At JavaOne

Posted by Michell Bak at 7:02 am in A2 / A200, Application, Interview, Java, Videos

I just saw that Johan from Sony Ericsson’s Developer World has posted a post including this very video of Sony Ericsson at the JavaOne conference a few days ago. The video is basically an interview of Christopher David, who’s responsible for the long-term platform planning Java. Check out the video, where Christopher talks about the new Mobile Services Architecture (MSA), as well as the new Project Capuchin. If you’re not in it for the developer talk, then have a look anyway - most of Sony Ericsson’s upcoming phones, such as C702, C902, G700, G900 and W980, are also featured in this video. If you’re a bit sentimental, you might also want to check out the K850 controlling the classic Sony Ericsson Bluetooth car, CAR-100.

Sony Ericsson’s Newest Flagship Store In Taiwan

Posted by Michell Bak at 5:45 pm in Corporative, Japanese, Market, News

Sony Ericsson today launched its newest (and biggest) flagship store in Taiwan. It seems like its opening day won’t be before tomorrow, but I haven’t got too much trust in Google Translate.

ePrice has posted some really great photos of the new store that looks quite like the one in the UK, and there are lots of cool fan objects to have a look at, such as the exquiste red bike that was displayed.

Have a look at the photos right over here, and if you want to read the text, you can find the Google Translate link here. Have fun :-)

PS. I’m still waiting for other flagship stores to open - when will they come, Sony Ericsson??

First Impressions Of The Z770

Posted by Michell Bak at 10:09 pm in Preview, Z series

“Wow - the front of this one looks amazing” was probably my first thought when unboxing the Z770. It gets even better once you pick it up, and you feel how well it fits in your palm. It’s obvious that the designers of the Z770 have been had a look out for the small, yet important details. One is that the phone’s outside is completely flush around the flip hinge when opened. It simply feels like a piece of heaven. Another thing you’ll notice on the front is a mono-coloured outer display, which I’m quite fond of already.

The Z770 is a light-weight phone. It feels rock solid in hand, although the flip is a tiny bit loose (it can be moved about 0.1 millimetre). To my great surprise, the keypad on the Z770 is excellent! It offers great tactile feedback, and the large keys are really comfortable to use and with large spacing between them as well. While I would probably have wanted a better, marked separation of the keys, it doesn’t really matter that much.

The display is gorgeus! It’s a 2.2 inch TFT display, capable of showing upto 262.144 colours. Its colour saturation and representation is superb, and it’s got a very decent viewing angle to top it of with.

The camera, on the other hand, isn’t much to write home about. It’s a mediocre “snapper” camera, and you won’t be able to use the pictures for much other than goofing around with your friends or posting on your MySpace profile!

So, that was our short preview / first impressions of the Z770. Stay tuned for a review of it later this month.

BeiBei Takes A Second Round

Posted by Michell Bak at 4:48 pm in Prototype, Rumour, Upcoming

Maximys over at SEMCBlog just posted the second photo of the upcoming BeiBei. It’s a Japenese inspired handset, and it in my opinion the colour combination is very cool. The red funny looking thing is the stylus.
